Question about Belkin Wireless G Plus MIMO (F5D9230-4) Router (1010835)

1 Answer

Frequent interruptions i have a belkin wireless G+ MIMO router, and whenever i connect to it - wirelessly or via an ethernet cable - i get frequent "interruptions" as in my internet connect in temporarily lost for a few seconds (typically less than 3 seconds) and then i have connection again. its rather annoying because i bought the router specifically to play a certain online game and the frequent interruptions causes me to disconnect from my game server - but these interruptions occur not only to the game servers, but also to the entire internet, as ive stated before. can someone please help me out? when i connect to the cable modem directly, i dont have this problem, so its not from my ISP.

Belkin wireless G plus mimo, this is my second one. Lose internet connection constantly. I'm 30 ft. away, another room. Do I need a stronger router?

I have a similar problem, my computer is only ten feet away and my internet constantly get disconnect and reconnect and it would do this all the time. When I check the connection speed on my laptop it would show only 20mps for about 2 second and then go down to 1mps and it would do this constantly.

I can generally have a firm connection, but on occasion I lose it when using Yahoomessenger or MSN Live Messenger, or when I enter a chat room at Talk City.com. I can visit the forums at Talk City for as long as I want but when I enter one of their chat rooms I seem to lose connection after about 15 minutes and it gets progressivly worse until I am losing connection almost as I re-enter a chat room there.

I have a Belkin Wireless G Plus Router connected via Ethernet cable to a Scientific Atlanta cable modem supplied by Virgin. I can't currently get any signal from the Belkin to my MacBook Pro (I've got it...

Make sure the IP of the Router and the IP of the MAC is in the same scope.
E.G. Router: 192.168.1.1 Subnet 255.255.255.0
Mac: 192.168.1.5 subnet 255.255.255.0
Typically the router acts as DHCP-server and distributing ip-adresses automatically, when a computer is connected. But the the IP can also be set manually.

When you only get 5 mbps are you connecting to the new router wirelessly or via the ethernet cable? If it is wirelessly then try connecting with an ethernet cable and see if you still get 5 mbps. If so then try resetting the router (the procedures for this will be explained in the manual) and re-test. Wireless connections can slow down due to obstacles such as thick walls or other obstacles of that type. If all else fails return the unit and try another.

You want to secure the wireless network.
Is there any computer connected to the router with the Ethernet cable?
If not then you will need to connect the computer to the router with the cable.
Check the IP address on the computer. Open the router set up page.
Once you open the set up page, you will find the option to make it secured

My laptop has vista installed via usb from virgin cable modem.what must i do to install a belkin wireless g mimo router using ethernet connection?

Huh? You installed Vista through your Virgin Cable Modem? What on earth does that mean?

Are you trying to ask "How do I install my Belkin Wireless G Router?"

If that is the actual question, here is the answer:

1) Unplug your cable modem from your computer.
2) Plug the cable modem into the router using a Ethernet Cable.
3) Plug the router into the computer using another Ethernet Cable.
4) Plug in the power supply for the cable modem and then the router.

(If your cable modem is ONLY USB, and doesn't have a spot to plug in a Ethernet Cable, you'll have to call Virgin and replace the modem with a model that does)

Once everything is up and running, you should be on the internet as soon as the computer starts.

(You may want to log into the router and disable the "Wireless" settings if you aren't using them to stop others from gaining entry to your network)

Belkin router

as long as you know your isp password and usename for your broadband connection, all you need to do is connect to the router via an ethernet cable and type in your web browser 192.168.2.1 to enter.

You will need to the router login details which is normal 'admin'

select ppoa or ppoe depending on your isp and the router should connect to the net

CANNOT CONNECTTO BELKIN G+ MIMO

Hello, Connect a crossover ethernet cable from the computer to one of the LAN ports (usually 4 grouped together) on back of router. Connect a crossover ethernet cable from DSL modem to the WAN port on the back of router. Enter The default address for a Belkin Wireless, 192 168.2.1 into browser address window. Hit enter, it will then ask for a password only. For default leave it blank and hit enter. You can change it later. This lets you into the settings. Look for WAN settings and make sure the "Dynamic IP" is selected. Save this and refresh the link. Bring up a browser and check for internet connection. There's a number of changes that can be made here. Let me know what happens.

I think you have lost your PPPOE internet connection. Reestablish the connection. If this is not the problem, click your wireless connection on the taskbar and search for your wireless device and reconnect. BPCS
