Question about Delphi Roady2 SA10085 XM Radio Receiver with Car Kit

1 Answer

Power outage in the car or at home

While driving, the power to unit goes out especially if I hit a bump and then it may come back on, if I rotate the unit down it doesn't seem to happen as often. In the house if I move it around while in the cradle, I can get it to lose power also. Seems like a bad connection internally but I don't have the right screwdriver to open it. Any suggestions would help. The unit is probably 3-4 yrs. old.

I did buy a #6 Torx bit and pulled the back off, I touched up the solder joints(2) on the DC jack and lo and behold my problem is fixed! Thanks to jtscout80 for the tip.

It's a #6 Torx screw. I just took mine apart and the DC input jack fell out, four broken solder joints.

My Delphi SkyFi2 power goes off when I hit a bump in my car

You most likely need a new dock with a solid DC jack connection. Also, there is a "lock" on the back of the dock to hold your SkyFi tuner in the dock tighter. I'd give you one of my docks if you lived nearby! Good luck and let us know what you find out.

I have a sterling diplomat 306 id,

Look at the right hand back corner of the bootlid recess, there is a very small steel spike sticking up which is a switch. Sometimes if the scooter goes over a sharf bump, the lid jumps slightly and the switch lifts momentary and puts the brake on. It thinks the lid has been lifted and goes into charging mode.
Switching the power on and off resets the system until the next sharp bump.
The switch is ajustable, or the bootlid needs to be pushed down harder before locking it.
I had this happen on my Diplomat 408i.
Hope this helps.

Hi, this morning we experienced power outage in our location, after 5 hours later power came back, but not our main server IBM System x32002. I checked the monitor and there is power. I check the green...

Depending on what caused the power outage, you may need to replace the power supply in the server. When outage happen and the power is restore. a power surge can destroy power supplies, especially if not connected to an UPS unit.

Good Luck

Power cuts out on unit frequently, especially when hitting bumps in the road. Not power supply, as that has been changed out

The problem is likely where the power cable connects to theGPS. There are several gold connectors and the flat plastic that is surrounding them pulls free from the piece it connects to. The result is theat the gold connectors dont stick out far enough to make contact on the back of the GPS. Glue the flat pice back on place and hold it tight while it dries to better expose the gold connectors

Once i hit a small bump in the road the screen goes blank and goes black. then i have to press reset button each time

Your unit shouldn't be that sensitive. Check the wire connections and make sure your not just losing contact from your power wire, if everything's good then you might a dud unit.

Samsung Prostar 816

The battery is dead and will not maintain system programing after a power outage. If the battery is not replaced this problem will occur everytime the power goes out.
