Audiovox Maestro pda1032 Battery Issues

Hey all I have been having an issue with the battery life of my pda. When it is fully charged and I switch the front light to Super Bright and in two minutes the battery is at 10 percent. Any Ideas what would cause this or how I would fix this? I never have had this problem before. Thanks

Re: Audiovox Maestro pda1032 Battery Issues

How old is it? - Just guessing that it's a couple years old, and your battery is shot. in this case you need to purchase a new one obviously. Also, there are battery monitor programs you could try out to see the status. A hard reset might help - it has been known to correct a "faulty" battery status. Hope this helps.

It must be the hp pda battery problem or the problem of your hp pda battery charger.

Dell axim x51v main battery low message. It has been ont he charger and I have the extended battery. How do I fix this?

Check to see that it is in fact charging. If the power button light stays amber and never goes green, it could be battery, PDA or charger. If you do get a green, that pretty rules out charger/cradle. If the extended battery isn't an ORIGINAL Dell, and is more than a year old, it's likely the battery. 2 quick checks: 1) Try a standard life battery. If you get exaclty the same result, your Dell's got issues. Might only need a firmware re flash. But if your going to do it, I recomend going to the LennySH WM6.1, it's faster, more stable, cool battery indicator & other goodies. 2)See if the battery is bulging; if it is, it's time is near. There seems to be a real problem with the eBay'ish extended batteries. On the other hand, I've heard a few guys report ok battery life, and just a low *reading*. Dell batts seem to give the best life, the aftermarket just doesn't have it together. If you dare, Lenny's 6.1 can be found on Mobilitysite, read up on it lot's if you decide to go that way.

My grandson's Palm Treo 650 will ot charge on wall, car or computer cords. No "drop" or "water damage" issues. He does not have his software. What sould I do now? Is there a reset button? Need he

Reset would not help with this kind of issues.

If it does not charge , and battery and charger are good, that means that there is a broken contact in the DC socket on the PDA, where you plug the charger.

The fix requires disassembly and a delicate soldering job on motherboard, and must be done at a repair shop.

Regards.

Hp rx1950 battery life.

I have the same problem, after I did the hard reset and installed no programs, this power problem disappeared. But once i installed any programs, PDA battery life became no longer than 2 days, which is strange.

leave the backup battery in the PDA and bring it back to life with this how to ;)

if that doesn't help you may need to give the battery a little kick-charge for the PDA to recognize it again. the PDA "thinks" there's not battery if the battery voltage is below 2Volt.
to "kick-charge" the battery just get a AC adaptor with at least 5V and 1A (a.k.a. 1000mA) with 2 wires and connect them to the battery pins (with "+" and "-" correct!)

if you have your PDA lying in front of you with the display down and the battery cover opened, the pins of the battery are as following:

left: plus
middle: charging/temperature (not important for hand-charging)
right: minus

connect the wires of the AC adaptor correctly and let it "kick-charge" for about 5minutes (but NEVER let it charge any longer if the battery is getting hot!!!!)

after that, the PDA should recognize the battery again because the voltage is more than 3Volt again.

but don't (!) try to power it up after kick-charging!
the batterys voltage is higher than 3Volt again, but it takes just a few seconds to empty it again if u try that.
it's only for the PDA to "see" the battery again ;)

Tungsten T5 holding a charge

You basically "Arc Welded" your charging circuit in your PDA. Perform a hard reset By turning on your PDA with the soft reset on the back pushed. If this don't solve it.....yikes

Hello uwood, The problem you have is related to the battery's nominal tension value. For the pda to light up the amber led dispaying that the battery is charging the tension value at the battery pins must be above 3.27Volts. If this is under that value the PDA's charging circuitry woun't power up and therefore the amber led woun't turn on. The battery you have bought is probably defective or not compatible with your pda model. If you are shure this is not the case or if the battery works with other pda's (if you have the possibility to check that), try a master reset at first and if this doesn't help try a firmware (ROM) update, you may find the ROM files on HP's site. For more informations please reply back.
