Hi, I'm very interested in installing an outside woodburner to heat my house and garage (work shop) I would like to install this my self but nobody will tell me what i need to buy to install it, all i need is simple drawings of like from burner to garage back to burner or from burner to house split up into rooms (zones) back to burner. 2008 Honda Odyssey license plate bulbs

Hello fellow Ody owner. Ok, here's what you do, make sure it's a warm, or even better, a hot day outside. Warm plastic is your friend, and cold plastic will break on you almost always. So, if you live in a warm climate, wait for a hot day to do the job. If you don't live in a warm climate, get the van in a warm garage and use a hair dryer or heat gun (set on low) and warm those little bulb housings up a little bit. Next use a small flat head screwdriver and CAREFULLY pry the housing that houses the bulb out of it's cavity. This is done from the outside of the vehicle and there's no need to take plastics off the door from the inside. Once the housing is off, the rest is self-explanatory. Remember to never touch a bulb with your fingers as the oil from your fingers will create a hot spot on the bulb and shorten it's life significantly. This is a rule that pertains mostly to halogen bulbs, but a rule best to follow with all bulbs. Use a small piece of paper or clean cloth to handle and install the bulbs. Good Luck! You got THIS!

I have a 3 ft stainless double wall chimney that is going thru a ceiling/roof in my garage. there were no instructions on installation. how is this secured? Pls thx Jer

You can use metal strapping with short self-tapping sheet metal screws also where it penetrates roof a metal collar on inside should be used and a roof collar approved for B-wall vent pipe to keep water from leaking inside on outside on the roof. You can penetrate outside of B-wall vent pipe with short screws to secure the pipe just don't penetrate both pipes.this outside pipe is just a insulator to keep heat from transferring through pipe.

Hello, I have a Ruud Silhouette II Plus 2 gas furnace installed in my garage. This is the first time that I've had a gas furnace (living on my own) so I am unsure of how it actually works. One thing...

If you have gas furnace, the outside unit will not come on unless you have dual fuel/ gas and heat pump. If you can look at wires in thermostat, if you have no wires going to O or B then you don't have heat pump. Normal tstat wiring for gas furnace and air conditioner. R,W,G,Y and maybe C.

Have hot/cold water pipes coming outside from roofspace in house to garage for washer/dryer. Already had two bursts inside garage and machine and electrics destroyed. New machine installed after...

Insulation only slows down the transfer of heat (cold), it does not stop it. If it is below freezing and the water in any pipe is not moving, it will eventually freeze. Most major industrial supply houses like McMaster-Carr or Grainger in the US, carry pipe tracing tape. It comes in various lengths and you secure it to the pipe under the insulation, plug it in and many types have integral thermostats that keep the pipe above freezing. If you have a washing machine, you will have to consider the lines to the washer valves, both hot & cold and any other areas in the washer that may hold water like the pump and the discharge hoses.

I need to know what type of heater is used that is safe for the home and can heat a house to at least 140 degrees with no one in it.

That is not possible, unless it is a woodburner or a fireplace. The woodburner is usually put outdoors and it heats the water in radiator lines that go into the house to the furnace, that might be your best option.
Most of the other units would have a safety that would kick a blower on and cool the units down before it could reach that temperature and maintain that temperature.
Trying to maintain that temperature is not good for your house.

The Grill side on my electric cooktop doesnt seem heat up enough

I had the same problem with the 45" Jenn Air downdraft cook top. The installation of the ductwork from the stove to the outside of the house was not properly installed. The stove is appr 18' from an outside wall and the flow of air was hampered by
too great a bend in the ductwork at the point below the stove on the underside of the house and the pipe going to the outside wall. I believe that was corrected with more curve in the vent work, making for a smoother flow of air. Make sense?

Rheem heat pump, have to keep pushing red reset button for fan

Either the fan motor is going out OR the compressor may need a boost of power from a quick start.

When the compressor gets old, sometimes it requires a little extra power to get it going.

Your unit should be under work warranty if they installed it.

My garage door opener only works from a couple feet away

On the rear of your motor unit just to the left of all those white wires you will see a small light. If this light is flashing randomly it is normal. If it is flashing rapidly it is an indication of interference or you have keyed your remote. It really sounds like interference and you will have to do some more checking things.

315 mhz is the radio frequency and you cannot change that. In fact if you purchase a new opener you will get that same frequency.

Your opener was made by Chamberlain Mfg. Co. that also makes Liftmaster. That may be where the confusion comes in.

Installing a Dayton G73

How many amps is your service? And what gauge wire did you use for the heater?
If your service is only 40amps that is your problem. You don't have enough amps for the heater and the rest of your house, you will have to upgrade your service.

How do you protect a lawn mower from rain?

If you'll go to a hardware store, I sure you can find a cover for a law mower. I had the same problem. At fist I was afraid that it won't do but it works great. I got a cover from home depot for 20 bucks.

Good Luck :-)
