Question about Dyson DC07 Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum

1 Answer

Dyson DC07 vacuum.

The canister that holds the dirt is loose and we are unable to remove it from the machine. Because it is loose there is no suction unless we hold the canister against the machine while using the vacuum. I cannot figure out how to remove the canister it is now disconnecting.

Suggestions?

You have to remove the hose and wand then you can get to the clip that holds the canister on the machine and with a screw driver gently prise it of the machine

Hi

The DC04 Dyson has a filter at the top, but the DC07 has one at the side on the bottom and one underneath the cylender.

Take all the parts off your dyson and throw them in the washing machine and then put them back together

I just bought a used Dyson DC07. Works good but

Hi its Darran at Dyson.

From your description of the problem, it sounds as though the wand/hose is blocked. To test this, please remove the wand from the machine and switch on, testing the suction from the top of the wand handle. If the suction is poor, remove the wand from the hose and test the suction from the top of the hose. If its strong from the hose itself, the wand is blocked and you will need to clear this.

If there is poor suction from the hose, you can remove this by unclipping it from the base of the machine and can then remove any blockages. It is also worth checking the hose for any splits or holes.

If you need any further help or advice, please visit our website at www.dyson.com and check out our support section.

Kind regards
Darran

HOW DO I EMPY

Remove the canister/dirt bin by pressing the button above the handle where it says Dyson. Next push the red or gray (depends on your model) trigger down whilst holding the canister over a trashcan. The bin door will open and release the dirt.

Dyson Animal with no suction from floor brushes

Check the canister seal for dirt or gaps. This is normally where the vacuum leak is.

Obstruction in the hose?
Your vac has developed a hairball possibly.... when a piece of flexible media ie.... cardboard, plastic etc... gets lodged in the hose, and begins collecting hair & dust to the point it no longer has enough draft to pull debris from the floor.
