I used a paring knife to try pulling the usb out of the mouse while pushing the button. On the 3rd side it must have straightened it out or pushed it in to place and to my surprise it slid right out. It has been working perfectly ever since. I really do like that little mouse.

Thank you for your concern. Barbara

My retractable targus optical mouse keeps turning on and off when I plug it in. How do I take it apart? Model: AMU75US

The problem may be in the actual connectors. Try using a different USB port. If the mouse is out of warranty, you could snip the usb plug off and splice it into another USB connector.

Try to disconnect the mouse and reconnect it back.If it is PS2 mouse you must restart the computer. If it is USB mouse, try changing the port.

Have you tried rebooting once it is connected? Not sure if it makes a difference, but I know you can not hook up PS2 peripherals without rebooting.

Insert the USB connector of your wireless mouse to your Toshiba Satellite and press simultaneously the button in your USB connector and the button in the wireless mouse. This is done in order to pair the mouse to the USB connector.

My mouse doesn't move but keyboard works.

What type of mouse do you use? USB or PS2 connector mouse.? If you're using usb connector mouse, change it to PS2 connector mouse. Start your pc/laptop. When you're in the OS, plug out the PS2 mouse and then plug in the usb connector mouse. Restart you pc/laptop. Is it ok now?

Labtec optical mouse

Is this a wireless mouse? If so, plug the USB connector into your computer. The pc should detect it and install the drivers automatically. Then there should be a button on the bottom of the mouse, press it, then press the button on the USB connector. This establishes a connection between the mouse and connector.
