Re: F505v ISO

You really can't change the ISO, but you do have some control over it, by being aware of how the program AE modes affect the camera's ISO settings.

You can only cahnge ISO levels in MANUAL mode, I assume you are trying to change in AUTOMATIC mode, which you canoot do as settings are automatically adjusted for lighting conditions. Hope this helps you.

Underexposed image on Auto mode

You can change the ISO setting also to Auto. If you have the advanced guide (see pp 80, 107).
Press the ISO button it will switch from various ISO setting to AUTO.

Do remember in Bright light , a lower ISO number like 80 will give you very fine images, while as the light level goes down, the ISO number will change to a higher number and the image will become more grainer.
I hope I could answer to your query.
Please do rate. Thanks

Grainy Pictures

With the iso set on auto mode it will change depending on the light and anything above iso 200 is very bad on this camera i know have the 717 and it does a lot better but if you can set the iso yourself and take it off auto allways use 100 or 200 for low grain.

505V owners please help me! 505V noise?

I don't know if it's considered "normal" or not, but my F505V does the same thing. The original in the msg above was only 2 seconds -- take a look at it and see how it compares to yours.

505V lattice-type background

You may sometimes see this. It is normal, when it does occur. I believe this has something to do with the fact that the F505V relies upon a diamond-shaped shutter/aperture design rather than having more leaves. This leads to other interesting effects with diamond-shaped lens flares, etc. Not ideal, but nothing to worry about, really. It won't detract from the beauty and sharpness of your images.

Did you go to Mssony directory and Moml0001 folder to look for the mpg file? I have a F505V and it works fine with my USB in Windows 98.

505v battery

If you're talking about digitalkamera.de info, I believe it's incorrect. SONY japan's web page states 1300 shots and 1 hour life for the battery and it still uses the same battery from 505k, NP-FS11. I think it's possible they have reduced the internal circuitry power consumption (in 505v) to reduce battery drain, but the battery itself seems to be identical.
