You will need 2 ethernet cable to set it up Tha first one will go from the ethernet port in your cable modem to the ethernet port of the router mentionned Modem. The next cable will go fron one of the port of the router to the ethernet port of your Computer,
This second cable is placed temporarely to be able to do set the routers settings,
After this is done insert the Cd that came with your Belkin router and it should guide you through the different setting pages of the router.

Change my belkin router password want a diffrent password

Connect to the router via a cable.
Open CMD (command) prompt and type:
iconfig
you will see a default gateway listed - write the ip address down.
Open internet explorer and enter the gateway address into the address bar.
Should open a web page to configure the router.
You may have to provide a password.

If you're only interested in wireless password change, select different pages until you get to the wireless stuff.

How to connect a rca thomson router to wifi

You are trying to connect to a modem, not a router, the router, a wi-fi version, is what you are connecting to your network.
First, power off all equipment, computer and modem, use the network cable you have connected to your computer from this modem and disconnect from the computer, connect it to the differently colored port on one end of the Belkin, the others have numbers, connect a network cable from one of the numbered ports to the computer.
Now power on the RCA modem, wait until lights are steady, then turn on the new Belkin router, wait until lights are active, just a few moments, then power on your computer, you should now have internet access and be able to locate the manual from the Belkin's website to further your setting up a passphrase or setting up some security on your wi-fi.

is it a wireless computer or the wired computer?
I believe the main computer is online.
Check the settings on the router.
You will need to open the router set up page.
here you will see the settings of the router.
If you are trying to connect to the wireless network then make sure that you are typing the correct network key.

Belkin n wirelss router setup

To setup the router you will need to log in to your router's control panel. This certainly won't be as simple as on the installer disc, yet it is still do-able. You might also want to contact Belkin's free technical support hot line. They can help you set it up with the method I described above.
