Yes I have the same problem. I installed a brand new from DELL, black ink cartridge and it will not print in black at all. It gave me the same message for a while, "remove tape", "cartridge not installed correctly". The printer does register the cartridge ink level but it will not print a thing. I have cleaned the heads inside and outside, I have reinstalled numerous times, I have also reinstalled the old black cartridge and it does the same ****! This is a remanufactured DELL printer. I have since purchased another and will NEVER again purchase a DELL printer of any kind! If any of you have any suggestions as to how this can be fixed please inform, THANKS!

Won't print in black

Make sure the contacts where the cartridge goes in are clean. A cloth dampened with water should be all right. You might also try installing a different cartridge. If that doesn't solve your problem, then your printer has an internal problem.
