Well, I solved the problem this way, after having gone into a loop of discussionwith "bunnydog." I took the cable set back to the retailer and then I trashed the subwoofer. Problem solved. I have no further need of your assistance.

Need a 3.5 mm audio cable adapter that originally came with this speaker set. It is an 3 to 1 adapter, meaning you connect the green, black and orange inputs into the adapter than turns into 1 black...

Your speakers are for a 5.1 sound system, thats why you have the diffrent channels (green, black & orange). Ideallly you need a sound card that can give you this output and the motherboard will be having those same colours as well.

If your PC did not hvave this, then you should not have spent your money on such expensive spaekers.

In the mean time just use the green connector and you should have a few of your speakers and the subwoofer playing.

Sorry about that mate.

How do i connect the boston BA745 comp. speakers to my gateway desktop?

Assuming you have the BA745 2.1 speaker set up, all of the cables connect to the subwoofer and then to the computer or the satellite speakers (these are built into the speakers IIRC). Take the cable with the black box (2 pins) to red and green. The red and green plugs go into the matching color ports on the computer and the pins on the black end fit into the jacks between the those for the two satellites. Plug the single end speaker cable into the subwoofer port all the way to the right on the back of the subwoofer. Plug the wire with the two plugs into the matching color jacks (blue to the left, red to the right). Then plug in the power adapter cable in the farthest left jack and plug in the other end to a surge protected power strip (that is plugged in and turned on).

How to I install Benwin 3d surround and subwoofer speaker to my PC

You should be able to plug them into your sound card. If an adapter is needed, they can be found at almost any electronics store.

When I do a noise test I get no sound out of the woofer. I am getting no bass from the woofer

These are "decent" quality 5.1 speakers, usually without any trouble.

Now, to your question, you will not have 5.1 "surround sound" effect with standard sound card, standard sound card will provide only three speakers sound, rear speakers will not connect but bass should be hear. Please switvh power off to the speakers and disconnect all cables from spaekers and connect them for best quality as follows:

1. Audio from PC, orange, green and black connecting to front right speaker.
2. DB15 (D-SUB) connecting to subwoofer, subwoofer is serving as mixer, power board, amplifier and connection box, control pod is just cable connection to it
3. Connect all cables to they respective speakers

Establish location of the speakers, from experience, in ideal world:

1. Sub should be on about your knee level or below, about twice your hight from you.
2. Front centre speaker should be about some distance as sub or bit closer on front and slightly above your head.
3. Front left and right speakers should be at about 45degree from your axis, at distance of about 1.5 your hight and on the level of your head or slightly below.
4. Rear left and right speakers should be located similiary to front speakers, on they level or slightly above them, again, about 45degree from your axis.

Location of the speakers is more actually important than it is assumed, total sound immersion is not possible without proper speakers installation. Head in these instruction meant a location of your head while you are listening to your music or recording not while you are standing.

In reality... hang them higher than your head in four corners of your room, front centre higher than sides, woofer lower than sides and below front centre, if they interfere with each other - increase the distance. I hate reality...

After speakers are connected:
1. Plug power cord in,
2. Turn all sounds totally down, including subwoofer
3. Increase sound on PC to maximum, let play any known to you music, tufftuff or bach, whatever, do not bother with metallica as you cannot discredit on it correct levels.
4. Increase subwoofer volume, holding one hand on the front of the grill till you get some vibration from it
5. Increase sound on centre speaker, then on sides front speakers till you achieve equality of the sound
6. Decrease sound volume on your PC to about 60% - 70%
7. Increse subwoofer volume till you feel sound on your hand in front of the speaker.
8. Increase sound volume on front/rear speakers as required.

Hope that short intro solved all your speaker problems, enjoy! if you require any additional help, do not hesitate to answer to this post with request.

How to connect unpowered subwoofer to receiver with RCA sub out?

In order for this to work, you will need an external amplifier. Your receiver is set up to use a "powered" sub. With only speaker connections on the sub, it is a "passive" sub requiring a separate amp.

Logitech x-350 speakers

Well i have the X-540 and i use my speakers for my tv. but the it shouldent matter, first you should have a docking station with the RCA cables ( red, white and yellow). Connect the green audio plug connected to the back of the subwoofer to the green plug Videogame adapter(as seen in picture.) Then plug the RCA cables from the docking station to the game adapter. (Red) (Vid. Game Adapter) / (Green)____________/ \ \(White) Hope this helps. p.s if u are connecting the speakers to the computer, remember u must have a sound card that has at least 6 channels ( 8 channels is best) if your do not have one for your comeputer, ask for an 8 channel sound card from your local computer/electronics store or type in "8 channel sound card" in ebay, its where i got mine

Subwoofer has a constant vibrating tone that will not go away

I suspect that what you are hearing is the 60 cps of the mains. If the humming sound is coming the subwoofer itself, then it is possible that you have a defective/leaky capacitor in the power supply section of the subwoofer. In the subwoofer, if the buzzing sound is coming from anywhere else other than the speaker itself, then it is possible that you have a loose transformer again in the power supply. Unless you are comfortable working with testers and soldering irons, I would suggest an electronics technician who should be able to diagnose and fix it for you.
