Cannot get 2wire to work on my iphone! :(

IPhone and AT&T 2wire internet connection I cannot get my IPhone and AT&T 2wire to get an Internet connection. My IPhone shows that I have wireless connection, but whenever I try to go to a web site, or check my email, Utube, etc, it says I do not have an Internet connection! When I'm outside of my "2wire router", I have NO problem picking up and connecting to any other wireless connection. Has anyone else had this problem, and how can I fix it? It is frustrating especially because the IPhone is AT&T, and so is my router!!! FYI - I have no problem with my My laptop connecting to the 2wire, wireless connection. ~Signal strength is "Excellent"!!!
It was suggested that I download the IPhone applications, (which I did) but I could only get so far... I get an "ACTIVATION ALERT" that says, "No signal detected. Signal is required to complete activation." (I have NO cell signal where I live) I finally drove to where I have signal, and "completed the activation", however, when I got back home, rebooted the 2wire router, AND my IPhone, (including putting in my 2wire password, etc.) I am having the same issue. (Showing FULL signal, but NO INTERNET connection on my IPhone).
ANY IDEAS!??????

This is probably not the answer you need...but for other noobs like me...just got an iPhone and could access WiFi everywhere except at my home, until just now. I have a desktop computer downstairs with 2wire modem and laptop upstairs with 2wire wireless network card. At home on my iPhone I've repeatedly tried to select the 2wire260 (WiFi tab) displayed in network settings but all passwords I enter (, homeportal, result in "Unable to connect" error. Finally I just entered my numeric WEP key from the underside of my modem as the password and it connected. Sounds like you may have a different problem though.

Try this one:

>on ur WIFI networks, click "other..."
>then manually type in ur network name (if its set to default, it should be 2WIRE and the last 3 digits of ur SN. It is case sensitive so type the name exactly how it looks like.)
>make sure that the setting is set to WEP
>on the password box, enter a dollar sign/$ first and then the 10 digit code under ur 2wire

keep me posted on this one

For my 2Wire modem 1000SW the WEP code is below the S/N tag and is a 10 digit numeric code.
In iPhone Setup - Choose a Network . . . tap on WIRE339 (or whatever modem you see) and you will be asked for a Password.
-Type in the 10 digit WEP number
-tap on Join

You shoud see the Router and DNS number that you can see also in the "cmd" window on the PC the router is connected to by typing "ipconfig".

Cannot get internet from router to

If I understand correctly you want to use the router as a gateway for an sat. receiver.
This Netgear router can be connected to devices that has TCP/IP connections (RJ45) ports or wireless IEEE 803.11 b/g, and that can get the IP address statically or from DHCP (router). Toshiba can do that and therefore it is working fine. If sat.receiver is not device that can behave as a PC (processor etc.) it can not get IP address and router can not "see" that device, therefore router can not let "something invisible" to connect to the internet.

Internet sharing

Hi, Could be done. On the Dell XP - 1. Activate your Internet Connection Sharing. Go to Control Panel, Click on Network Connections, right click on your Local Area Connection, Properties, Advanced tab, check Allow other network users to connect through this computer's internet connection. In Home networking connection, choose "Local Area Connection", OK; 2. Back to General settings, click on Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), click on Properties, tick Use the following IP address: IP address, Subnet mask, Default gateway, if you know ITT DNS use them otherwise tick "Obtain DNS server address automatically." You have to connect the DellXP with the DellVista using a crossover networking cable. On the Dell Vista- 1. In your Network Connections, right click on your Local Area Connection, Properties, click on Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), click on Properties, tick Use the following IP address: IP address, Subnet mask, Default gateway, if you know ITT DNS use them otherwise tick "Obtain DNS server address automatically." The above method will also work with peer to peer wireless networking. It might also facilitate connection if you enable auto-detect proxy settings in your browser. There are other methods. This is also better explained at Microsoft support Hope this be of help/idea. Post back how things turns up or should you need additional information. Good luck and kind regards.

You can, but it requires some modification to do so. One way, perhaps the easiest, is to follow the instructions here: Unless you don't have a Mac, in which case there are other ways to do it.
