Oven wont heat, shuts down in few seconds

Amana Elec Wall Oven ACOS3040SS, about 10 years old.
Checked power supply, have 240 and 120V across leads to panel..
Clock works, Conv Fan works.
Bake, Broil, and Conv all start, hear relays clicking, then oven shuts down with a click.
Xformer looks "cooked".
Worried because had a bizarre Electric Company Service issue, where they kept dropping 240 leg to my house over several months. No clue if my oven has low voltage cutoff, think my oven may have been operating and pulling higher current with this service issue.
I am an engineer, comfortable with a multimeter, could use a wiring diagram and expert advice.

Should be an easy fix. If the hot surface glow ignitor (HSI) does not glow and all control selections and settings on the front control panel are set correctly, chances are the HSI is burned out.

Replacing the HSI part is likely to solve the problem. A very common part that burns out or becomes weak needing replacement. Reading a few of the existing questions pertaining to ovens with like or similar problems will explain how to replace the HSI. The below link will also provide helpful information.

Retail parts dealers and appliances parts stores can also help determine what the possible problem may be based upon that specific brand and model. Bring the make, model and serial numbers. Dealers and appliances parts stores are listed in the phone book.

Additional Suggestions:
Read the manufacturers online web site for product information, problem possibilities, causes, solving methods, part locations, disassembly, reassembly methods, repair procedures, pictorials, schematics, repair and or owners manuals which may be available online.

Cautionary Note:
Before attempting any repairs, be sure to unplug the appliance from the wall receptacle power source first.

Hello,

The ignitor is bad again,if it (ignitor) comes on but no flame/heat its the ignotor again, what would make the ignotor go bad so fast (usually last 10-15 years) is a problem with the oven burner, so now BOTH the ignitor and burner would need to be replaced,if it is 15 years old the ignitor is readily avaliable but the burner may not be

Hi,

Press the "Off/Clear' button to cancel anything on the display, and reset the oven. This is a soft reset and will simply get you out of any program you have started. If the problem still persist,
Perform a hard reset. Pull the plug out of the wall power supply, and wait a moment. Plug the oven back into the wall power supply to reset any anomalies with the oven memory.

Double oven willnot light

Peace,
ngafm at your service,

It sounds like a bad igniter in that oven or a bad gas valve restricting the gas flow in that particular oven.

Unfortunately this will require hands on service!

How old is this wall oven?

Please give me a good rating before you sign of!
If the appliance is 10 years old or more you may not be advisable to put good money into bad! New appliances are so much more efficient today that they can save you a lot of money in energy!!!!
You need a hands on tech for this repair!

OLD GE Wall Oven doesn't heat properly

On these older ovens ther is usually always 120 volts on the elements at all times.
If you check across the element ends with it in bake you should read 240V. If not, there is a problem with the control. With the voltage drop you describe, it sounds like you are losing power on one line of voltage coming to the element.
Post back to let me know what you find out or if you have any questions.

Oven not heating up properly

You could very well have an electrical problem. You may not be getting the full 220 volts needed to make the oven function correctly. Call a local appliance technician or electrician for service.
