SOURCE: service light on

I just had the same problem resolved, my mastertemp 400 would run up the temp to 82F and then cutoff, the service light flashes and then 50 seconds later the heater would restart and run for 2 minnutesbefore shutting down again and relighting in 50 seconds. Repeating until the temp setting is reached.

I had the pool guy out 3 times until he found a bad thermal regulator valve (kit #77707-0010). Once replaced the heater runs great.

He told me that it's my pool chemestry that is to blame, I had it checked (like I do weekely by me and monthly by the pool supply store) and it perfect??? I'm now questioning what caused the corroson and stop it from coming back?

I hope tis helps.

SOURCE: Service light comes on our Raypak RP 2100 pool heater.

this usually indicates a high limit condition.you must first ascertain if you have a component failure or a true high tempature condition.your model has 2 limit controls and they are both located in side panel on water in/out header

SOURCE: I have Jandy RS4 system with 4-button poolside

Pull the cover off the control panel. You will probably find a button which would be accessible from outside the panel with a paper clip or pencil but is unlabeled. On the board itself by the button, in small letters it should say "reset". Push the button and see what happens.

Rheem pool heater, M406A, display has failed. It is only partially readable and has a dark spot inside it. Is the replacement part the PC board/controller? Is this a job for a savvy homeowner or call

The display is part of the pc board and it is very easy to replace. It is also fairly expensive part just to read the temp(around $400.00). If the heater works fine except for the display you can get by. Hit the up arrow button about thirty times this will ensure you have max'ed out the temperature at 104 degrees. From there with the down arrow you can count down to the desired temp. The mode button should work normally to turn the heater on or off as desired. This is obviously not the repair but it will buy time until you are prepared to replace it or have a technician out for another call.

Pool heater is not working properly

So I assume you have pressed the button by pool to select the pool thermostat? If this doesn't work sounds like another mother board problem, or try powering down the unit a few minutes then restart. IF you haven't pressed the pool button, the read this: The heater comes factory set at 78° F. for the pool mode and 100° F. for the spa mode. If it's in spa mode it's trying to get to 100F. Using the up and down arrows, you can set the thermostats to a minimum temperature of 65° F., or a maximum of 104° F. If you desire to heat only one
body of water, the thermostat is capable of an off mode. As an example, if you only wish to heat the pool and not the spa simply depress and hold the spa down arrow, and the thermostat will lower its setting to 65° F. then go to an off mode. The power supply on my hayward h100i pool heater is definitely on, but the unit seems totally dead: no fan, nothing. was working fine as i turned it off yesterday.

Verify the pressure switch and thermostat are both closed while the pump is on. Be sure the front panel is on the heater. Access the parts with the top removed. If they are you will likely need to replace the control board, part number IDXMOD1930. If not, replace whichever part is open.

Jandy Lite2 controller blinking and can't program

I had the same problem and a friend of mine told me that the board is shot and needs to be replaced. I got a new board and installed it just now and everything is working fine now. The back of the board looked a little fried. If you can take the board out which is connected by a ribbon cord and plug and 4 screws on front. It might be possibly fixed by an electronic person or else you will have to get a whole new board $275. Sorry

Heater ignites in spa mode but not pool mode . It worked fine last year but when I opened my pool this year I found it would not ignite in pool mode nor would the temperture control adjust. It does ignite...

Sounds like you may have a bad temperature sensor. Check for damaged wires or have a technician test the sensors. they should have a certain resistance property, if they are not within the set parameters the sensor will not allow the heater to fire. If there is a separate thermostat for the pool side, check that as well.

Heater temperature control buttons

The board is bad. The part number is IDXLCPA1930. Expect about a $400 replacement cost.
