Question about Televison & Video

1 Answer

The picture on my Samsung WS28A116D 100Hz with intergrated digital has suddenly changed in size the picture seems to be too big for the screen as it only shows what seems to be on the left 50 percent [this covers the whole of the screen]. I wondered if it may be something to do with alterations they have made to our local transmitter of whether it is a fault with the television itself. when I put on the guide although the writing is larger the small picture shown on the channel you are on is actually what should be shown on the full tv screen. Can you help

Try unhooking the cable and hook up a dvd player see if the picture stays the same if it does then its the tv ,if its normal it will be in the transmitter.

Text on screen too large and cannot get to fit on

Sounds as though your screen is in zoom mode. Have a look on the remote for an option button like "aspect" or 16:9/4:3

Good evening, I've gone through the manual and I can't get my TV to show 100hz (always 50hz), also on some channels I cannot get the picture to fit the screen (it's 32''). Any help would be greatly...

Well, first the 100Hz issue. Your TV will display a descriptor or the signal it is receiving, not a descriptor of the picture you are watching. Your TV panel has a native resolution and frequency. In your case, that frequency is 100Hz. Everything, like it or not, must be converted to 100Hz for the TV to work. In your manual, you are simply adjusting setting which smooth the picture and make it flow better than it would at 50Hz. This feature is slight of hand and is probably working just fine. As for the picture fitting the screen; HD programs fill the screen of HD channels.... SD (Standard Definition) programs use black bars on each side when on HD channels. You can use any available wide or picture size feature your TV may have to stretch the picture. You may be unable to stretch the picture, due to restrictions (some TVs will not resize HD formats).

I have a Samsung series 5 530 and the picture only recently is too big for the screen. also tried everything in the manual. Just started a few weeks ago.

The picture size may have been changed on the remote. Try the button that says pic size or something close to that. It must have been switched to a mode which zooms in the picture. That should fix it.

My samsung ws28a116d remote will only adjust the volume and mute the tv no other actions seem to work , is it possible to adjust the picture size without the remote ?

To reset the remote so that it works properly again, take the batterys out of the remote, then press and hold the power battery for at least 30 seconds to drain out any power left in the hadnset , then replace battterys and it should work again. We had this fault and this solution worked for us

You Can Change The Size Of The Picture By Clicking The +/- Button And There You Can Select The Size Used In The Memory For The Picture But You Cannot Change The MegaPixels Used Becase MegaPixels Just Mean The Quality Of The Picture

Large pictures on computer screen

I wouldn't recommend it. You'll never know when you want to order prints and lowering the size settings will give poor quality. I would go with downloading picasa http://picasa.google.com/ as it as a nice option to re-size big pictures for emails (keeping the originals intact).
