Try re installing the audio drivers. go to device manager, sounds and look to see if there a yellow exclamation point next to the sound card, Without knowing what kind of computer or laptop, you have , start there then go to the manufacture website and download drivers and software and get the sound card drivers

Are there CPU fan settings in the bios of a Sony Vaio laptop model #PCG-3E2L? I know newer laptops do. I have replaced the broken fan, but new fan attempts to spin up on boot, but stops immediately....

Test your PSU or replace it if your power supply units fan is not working your PSU is faulty

One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to detect/ boot up a computer hard drive

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA

the leads from your ((motherboard to your hard drive)) make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them there probably old and faulty
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty even the electrical extensions or just replace them they are probably old and faulty a computer needs its connections to continue its cycle and have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error

hope this helps

My laptop fan makes alot of noise and gets heated up very quickly.all the games i play cause the laptop to shut down without warning due to overheating.i have tried getting it cleaned, but it doesnt...

Laptop Fan noise:

This seems to be a common problem with laptops over a couple of years old. Dust gets trapped in the copper fins and the fan of the CPU heatsink and reduces the efficiency of the cooling, which results in regular power off's by the laptop as it gets over it's upper temperature setting. The fix is relatively easy, just remove the heatsink unit, blow it clean with compressed air, clean the old CPU heatsink paste off with isopropyl alcohol (IPA) and spray a thin film of heatsink paste on the CPU.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it and give a testimonial for my response

Thanks, Joe

Hi i have sony vaio vgn-cs11s laptop ,i vd some problem vd my laptop its goning heat and then automatic power off.plz tell me how can i sloed this problem...

When the CPU overheats then it will shutdown (i.e. thermal overload) and won't boot up again until it has cooled down.If this is the problem is not fixed then the CPU will eventually fail.
A faulty fan causes this problem or the fan and heat sink assembly are cloggedwith dust.
Check the CPU fan to see if it spins freely, if not replace the fan. If the fan and heat sink is clogged withdust the remove the dust and make sure the vents are clear and dust free. Use acan of compressed air to do this.

I dropped my Sony PCG-3E2L and now the fan is not running. Lap top shouts off after a few min

If the fan is not running you should use the computer because you could cause it to overheat and become very damaged. Right now it is possible that JUST the fan is broken, which would be a simple fix. The reason the computer is shutting off after a few minutes is because it's trying to save itself from melting. You need to remove the fan, find the manufacturer and model number on the fan and order a replcement and install it before you attempt to use the computer any further.

I hope this helps! If not, please comment back and let us know!

Sony Vaio VGN-S5VP/B Noisy CPU Fan

Buy a can of compressed air, a can of fine mechanisms oil, take the bottom cover off the laptop (only a Phillips screwdriver is needed) and clean and oil the fan.

My sony is over heating

This is almost certainly a hardware fault - the fan will need to be replaced. This is a job you can do yourself if you are comfortable disassembling the laptop. Otherwise I suggest to take it to a repair centre.

I have no audio device for my sony pcg fx215 what is the best audio device for my laptop?

friend,
It all depends on the money that you can spend. You can buy starting from low cost local brands to the high end BOSE speaker set. Sound is a very personal item. What I consider good may not be good enough for you. So, what I would suggest is you take the laptop to the store and fix it up for a live demonstration. And then wherever you feel the current, buy it.

My sony vaio VGN-CS11S is soo noisy

The fan's bearings are probably going bad, or there may be some object that was sucked in to cause the noise.
