Question about Kitchen Ranges

1 Answer

I'm looking to wire my NEFF B1322N1GB oven and have taken the back cover off. I can see three screws, one for earth is obvious but I don't know what one of the other two is Live and Neutral. One has brown and blue cables coming out of it and the other has two black cables coming out of it but like I say I don't know what one is Live and what one is Natural. Really appreciate any advice you can. Thanks Peter

Hi, Looking for a wiring/electrical diagram for Neff D39F56S0GB Extractor hood. Or could you Kindly point me in the right direction. Thank you

You can find the manual here:

D39F56S0GB/01

and here:
D39F56S0GB/02

It should come with a cable attached which should conform to standard wiring colour codes.

Red/Brown = Live/Feed
Black/Blue = Neutral/Return
Green/Green & Yellow = Earth

If the standard cable has been cut off there is a good chance it was for a reason and you shouldn't try to connect it without knowing how to determine which contact is for which (an electrician/electronics tech will know within seconds what should be connected where.)

My neff b1421 does not heat up and has left a "chalky dust" substance in the oven?

The dust is from where the ring element has blown. remove the back panel 4-6 torx 20 screws and the blow on the element should be pretty obvious, part no is 499003. can be replace from inside the unit, one screw on the right of the ring and two on the holding bracket. Obviously, isolate from mains, be careful when you remove the element at the bracket side, so as not to let the connection wires drop into the back cavity or you will have to remove the whole oven and back of the oven to retrieve them. One tag on each prong of the element (doesn't matter which way round they go)
Best of luck

Ive taken element out to replace with new but have forgotten the way the wires went back.there are three spade connections the earth is obvious but not the live and neutral

Hello Ian,

You can put the live and neutral on either of the outer terminals terminal. It really doesn't matter. It's the same principle as not needing to screw in a bayonet light bulb a certain way round. As long as the circuit is complete, it will work correctly.

To put it in the simplest terms, attach the earth wire to the shorter centre terminal with the live and neutral wires on the two outer terminals and job's a good 'un.

Hope this helps. If you need further assistance, please let me know.

BElectric

Ijust replacedmy fan oven element and there was only tow prongs not three - do I need a different fitting?

No, the new element should have come with a sheet of paper with the solution on it. Basically the old element would have had a prong in the middle to connect the earth. You need to remove the back of the oven casing and put the spare connection on the spare spade on the fan motor. Obviously ensure that the unit is isolated from the mains power supply before removing the back case panel. Hope this helps.

When replacing an element in a neff oven, what should I do with the earth wire? There's no point on the new, replacement element to which I can attach it to. Do I just wind a bit of insulating tape around...

So long as you make it safe, it does not matter if it is not connected, as the element will still be earthed via the cabinet earthing connections.
Please rate my solution.
Thankyou.

What is the wire conection sequence

If there is no earth wire to the element, then it it does not matter which wire goes on the terminals of the heater, as they are common, so,as long as you do not connect the wires to earth, it will be o/k.
If one wire is green/yellow, then that goes to rearth.
Hope this helps.

Neff Combined oven and microwave

If there's no obvious removable cover over the bulb (and the owner's manual doesn't address it) some disassembly may be required.

Always unplug a microwave before removing or installing any bulbs.

If it's an over the range type, remove the vent grille across the top and see if bulbs can be accessed there. There may be a panel on the bottom covering the light(s), instead.

If not, chances are you'll have to remove it from the wall, then remove the outer cover. If so, the installation instructions are very handy, and it's best to have two people since the microwave can be heavy and awkward.

Once it's out of the wall, the outer cover (wrapper) will need to be removed, just as you'll need to do on a counter top model.

On a counter top model, be sure it's unplugged, but otherwise ignore the instructions above this paragraph.

The screws you need to remove should be pretty obvious, but a special driver (such as a T20H type or GTXH20-100) may be needed.

Be sure to put all the screws back in the right holes, since some may be special grounding screws.

Bulbs can be had in most grocery stores, hardware stores, home improvement centers, and big box or department stores.

Many models use halogen lamps. You must not touch the new one with your bare skin, as the oils will shorten the bulb life.

We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

Neff u1271 oven not heating

Found the fault. It's the heat ring in the main oven. MAKE SURE THE MAINS POWER IS OFF PRIOR TO COMMENCING THIS WORK!!!!! 1.Simply remove the four screws that fix the fan surround in the main oven. 2.Remove the rear cover fixing screws and remove the rear cover. ( the cable passes through this so just rest it to one side ). 3.Remove the two push on spade connectors from the heater element ( positioned just down and to the right of the fan assembly ). 4.Remove the four heater element fixing screws from inside the main oven. 5. The tricky bit. . . There is one more fixing at the top of the fan in the main oven. I could not get the fan off its spindle, but the next step sorted this out. 6.Remove the three fan fixings from the rear of the oven. This allows the fan to wobble/move enough in the oven to remove the final heater fixing screw at the top of the fan. 7.Pull the heater element into the main oven. No doubt it has a very grey and flakey appearance to part of it! 8.Buy a new one and replace it in reverse order, remembering to replace all fixing screws as you go. 9. If you forget which way the cables on the heater element go, the one with the red marks on it goes to the left as you look at the back of the oven from the outside. ( nearest the fan assembly ) I know this all looks a bit long winded, but it really is quite simple if you follow the notes above! Hope this helps someone. Might just save a ridiculous call out charge from the professionals!!!! Best of luck, Keith.
