Question about Gaggia Titanium Espresso Machine

1 Answer

Rinsing cycle won't START

I've entered MENU, selected RINSING CYCLE, and pressed OK.

Nothing happened. Watertank is full, but water is not pouring. Machine emits no sound. Buttons are not responding.

After all, I turned machine off with power switch, waited 30 seconds and turned it back on. It made short rinsing and again nothing happened and displayed "RINSING CYCLE" message.

Then I pressed leftmost button with "ESC" sign. Nothing happened. Then I pressed and hold "ESC" button for 10 seconds. When I released "ESC" - machine went through rinsing (about 1 big cup of water). I repeated and again got 1 cup of water.

Then I pressed and hold "UP" button (leftmost). This time machine went through about 4 cups of water and RETURNED TO NORMAL.

Halleluiah! Now I can get my morning coffee again!

I turn on the machine, "Rinsing Warming Up" appears. I wait 15-20 minutes but the machine does not initiate the rinsing cycle. I press the steam buttom anf the message "Rinsing Warming Up....Hot Water" appears. I turn the steam knob counterclockwise as instructed in the directions, and I get a steady stream of water. I close the steam knob (clockwise), and press the steam buttom as instructed, but I never receive the "Select Product Ready for Use" message.

Bottom-line...the machine never initiated the Rinsing cycle.

After all, I turned machine off with power switch, waited 30 seconds and turned it back on. It displayed "RINSING CYCLE" message, but this time went through regular rinsing cycle, then rinsed thoroughly (I counted several cups of water) and RETURNED TO NORMAL.

How do you descale

usually with a white vinegar cycle

Mar 30, 2015 | Saeco Magic Comfort Plus Espresso Machine

1 Answer

My maker keeps on saying descale. but how do i do it.

17.3 Descale
Over time, the continuous heating up of the water used to make the coffee leads to lime scale building up in
the inner circuits of the appliance.
When the message:
DESCALE
flashes on the display, you should perform the descale cycle.
Proceed as follows:
• make sure the appliance is ready.
• press the P button (the light over the button comes on) then press the button repeatedly until the
appliance displays:
DESCALE No
• Press the button (corresponding to the SET symbol flashing on the display) and the appliance will
display:
DESCALE YES
• Press the OK button to start the descale programme.
• Empty the tank and pour in the contents of one bottle (125 ml) of DURGOL descaler plus one litre of
water.
For subsequent descaling, use descaler of the same type and brand as supplied (available from technical
service centres authorised by the manufacturer).
• attach the water spout to the nozzle;
• place a container with a minimum capacity of 1.5 litres under the hot water spout (Fig. 3);
34 C o l l e c t i o n
• press the OK button.Descaler runs off from the hot water spout into the container below.
The appliance displays:
APPLIANCE IN DESCALE
• the descale programme automatically performs a series of run offs and pauses to remove lime scale
deposits from inside the coffee maker.
• After about 30 minutes, the appliance displays:
RINSING FILL TANK
The appliance must now be rinsed through to eliminate residues of descaling solution from inside the appliance.
Proceed as follows:
• empty the water tank, rinse and fill with clean water.
• Reposition the tank.
• Empty the full container and then put it back under the hot water spout.
• Press the OK button. Hot water is run off from the spout into the container below and the appliance displays:
RINSING
• When the water tank is empty, the appliance displays the message:
RINSING COMPLETE PRESS OK
• Press the OK button and refill the water tank with clean water.
• The descale programme is now terminated and the appliance is ready to make coffee again.

Descaled and rinsed the machine. now it is stuck in the rinsing mode. how do we get out of this cycle?

If you are rinsing after doing the descale it has to run out of water. The pump will quit and the rinse should be gone. The you have to go into the menu and select "reset descale" and chose "YES" and then "enter", then you can exit. It will tell you when it needs to be descaled again. Make sure that your water hardness is set to "4".

Rinsing cicle is not stoping.Mashine not responding to any baton. How to stop Rinsing cicle and go to normal mode? Thanks Radan

If its is only the rinsing cycle at start up you can go into the menu and turn the rinsing cycle off.
If its the rinsing cycle for the descale, it has to run out of water to finish. Then reprime the machine and it will start to heat again.

Rinsing...Warming UP... message on Saeco Magic Comfort plus

HI, I am sure you have solved your problem, however:
If you Descale the machine and let it Rinse to complettion of the
cycle; it resets the machine and it will start Rinising after warmup.

Otherwise press the Menu button and go to Energy Saving
then press the Esc buttton. This allows the machine to start
without Rinsing. Also you may turn Rinsing to Off in the Menu.

The duration of the rinsing cycle is equal to the amount of water you have in the water tank. I don't believe they tell you this anywhere in the manual! I own a Titanium SS and it rinsed and rinsed and rinsed the first time I performed it! I figured out it will just keep going until the water tank sensor tells the machine it is out of water which is equal to saying to it: "Thanks for using all the water i wanted you to use to rinse, now you're finished." It takes a LONG time if you fill the tank. If you keep filling the tank, it will just KEEP going. Be patient, let the tank run out of water and this will trigger the end of teh cycle. Hope this helps, Tony.
