Are you running the Vista operating system? And is your router wireless or Cable,DSL or Lan?

If you are on wireless you should reset your router and restart your computer. If you are running vista then in the bottom right corner of your desktop on the taskbar there is the connect to a network icon. If there is no globe in the two small screens then you are'nt connected to the internet. If they are blue you are just connected to the router but not the internent.
