Question about Projection Televisions

1 Answer

I have just installed a Teac SDB451 set top box for a friend and I have installed antenna to it then used the video and audio outs to their vcr and vcr to their TV. I can get a picture using the set top box via the vcr but I can not set it up so we can watch one thing and tape another as the VCR & TV recievers dont appear to be getting the antenna signal from the set top box.

i have a teac sdb451 receiver and i can only get channel 9 and sbs and my 20 dollar speical from cash converters works better and its a no name brand can somone help me out

I also can only get about 2-3 channels. The channels sometimes change if the STB is moved. Does this model somehow get interference from other items such as wireless internet?

Channel 10, SBS are always working and 9/7/ABC alternate. If anyone has a solution, please advise.

Go to http://vk3khb.gak.net.au/atv/chnlchrt.html#TV_Table

I went there and checked the details vs those appearing on my STB. Went through the manual channel search and changed the frequency to those on the above website. Now all channels work perfectly. I only bought this STB because my last one froze, it appears this one doesn't have the best auto search facility but with a bit of tinkering it will work for you!

I can't get my Comcast cable channels to display on my Hitachi HDTV..how should I fix this?

A very well written question and I think you have provided your own answer.

this set uses a antenna switching assembly and they do fail. It could also be a bad tuner--note that the other owner got blu ray and such on it which are not via the coax fitting.

If your box has audio/video output jacks (like the blu ray) connect them to one of the rear audio/video inputs on rear of set and select that input on the set---box will then be used for channels but connection will not be via the coax but via that input.

If the box does not have those outputs get another--most providers do not charge for a box with those outputs on it.

If works you are just bypassing the tuner where your problem seems to be---those antenna networks are no longer available from Hitachi.

How do I escape from an input screen back to watching satellite tv? Screen reads first please connect all signals and antennas to jacks and terminals on the back of the tv then press the channel up key...

Looks like your set is not receiving the signal from the sat. receiver. Make sure that the audio/video cable is in good shape and connected correctly, then select the correct input on your tv. If that doesn`t work try to connect a dvd or vcr on the same cable, if that is still no go then you may have a bad audio/video cable or there is a problem with your tv set. If it does work(dvd/vcr) then you`ll have to check your satellite receiver. Hope this help. Good luck

Sony KP-53XBR45 rear projection TV: Coax input Selector Antena part on rear has the AUX input 'male' connector but the TV/Cable 'male' connection end is missing. Is there a way to use the AUX or any other...

You can replace the connector or if you have a cable box with audio and video outputs on it---connect them into one of the sets of jacks on the back of the set--switch to that input and change channels with the box----you can also do the same thing with a VCR--hook the cable into it and use its video and audio output jacks to connect to the video and audio input on the back of the TV.

In this case (the VCR does not have to work except as a tuner) you will go to whatever input you connect to and use the VCR to change channels.

These are a little less easy to use but costs you nothing---I am here to help, if you have any questions or need help let me know.

Sennheiser hookup to noncompatable Samsung DLP TV

Ok if I understand what you are saying. You are going from your TVs audio jack into an amplifier TEAC AG-V8050 and then into the Sennheiser T1250 unit? This is done to amplify the sound so your wife can hear the TV via Infared into headphones I am guessing. The connections would have to be as follows. TV RCA jack (Installed by someone to TV audio Output section, most likely the speaker) to the Amplifier TEAC AG-V8050 via RCA cable then from the Amplifier via RCA cable to the Sennheiser TI 250 IR Transmitter. The transmitter then takes the audio input and turns it into a digital signal which is transmitted via IR to headphones which your wife is using. First of all the amp TEAC AG-V8050 is not needed. what happend here is the person doing the installation took sound off of a preamp to avoid having to deal with the TV volume control. This works but it makes matters harder. So here is how you troubleshoot this problem: 1) Disconnect the amplifier and plug the RCA jack of the TV into the RCA jack of a set of amplified Mono headphones. (This is to determine if sound is coming from the TV) If not the problem is in the TV audio section and you will need to take it to a TV repair shop. 2) If audio is coming through the headset the trouble is in the amp or the sennhiser unit. To test the sennhiser unit: plug the sennhiser into the audio out of a VCR and listen in the headphones for sound. If you have sound, the sennheiser is good and the problem may be in the amplifier, but if you do not have sound the the sennheiser is bad. 3)Connect the audio out of the VCR into the audio in of the amplifier and plug the output of the amplifier into the sennheiser which tested good with just the VCR alone. If no sound is present then the amp is your culprit. Once you find out which component is the problem, I would suggest finding a rapair shop here on FitYa to repair your unit or having an electronics technician come to you to fix the bad component. This should help, Thank you, Shuttle83

Born to Race,

I have just bought a TEAC HBD841 which was on discounted sale at a local Electrical Store
Besides not being able to figure out how to connect the device to my elderly TV because the inadequate instruction booklet that is written in a language an Electrical Engineer would have difficulty understanding - does not explain which plugs go where, (try plugging a three plug lead into a 2 plug TV) but since then I have found out that the HDB841 has been withdrawn from sale and is no longer available.
No wonder it was cheap!
I suggest you get rid of it - quick

I have a rca rear projection and it doesnt have a rear screw on piece to connect the antenna one day it just turned off i had the antenna cord plugged direct

Good Day, pptramos;
If you have a cable box, sat box or vcr use the AV(audio/video) inputs instead of the RF (antenna) input.
Good Luck, big IRISH. ....PS the AV inputs are color coded, yellow (video), red and white (audio).
