Question about Mitsubishi WT-42315 42" TV

4 Answers

Mitsybishi WS-65711 We have the same problem (shuts off - before every so often, now the power "clicks" on and immediately turns off) with our TV. What is the DM? Where do I find it on the TV? Similar problem, replaced DM modules: stk394-250 to correct problem with red color. Between diagnosing red color problem and replacing modules, the set began turning off within seconds of being turned on. I replaced moduels, and it continues turning off within seconds. Help, Terry!

Power supply is faulty. As it is switching type some experience is needed to troubleshooting it. So better take it to an authorized service station to repair.

DM is a diagnostic mode. try to use this manual for a helpful solution and contact your service provider on your tv to be able to replace what may cause the problem.

I believe i staed ina similiar case that you seem to be having a over heating of the circuit chips on the mother board. are the cooling fans in the set running.

you have a supply issue to the main board. you have power to the set but you have no power going to the main board. your power supply module is defective this delegates how much and where a specified voltage signal goes. if the module get's hot and senses an overload it will shut down and the fan/s should be running while the set is in use. please don't forget to rate the solution

Repair it yourself for as little as $10 worth of small capacitors.

You need to replace the capacitors on your DM Power Board. It is easy.

Or order a whole kit with all tools needed for $36

That is an extremely common problem with Mitsubishi tvs old and new. It can be fixed easily and cheaply for those willing to use their hands.

Good Day, Girl 1;
Hey, Girl 1, I have four girls not counting my wife . So, helping you may be difficult. Just kidding!
I would highly suspect that you have fluid on your TV's PCB's (printed circuit boards).
So, at this point that you should call an Authorized Service Center and have them give you an estimate before any repairs are performed.
If you want to try repair on your own e me at mmrkcar@yahoo.com.

Thanks you and Good Luck, big IRISH.

Mitshubishi WS-73907 won't stay on

I suspect you may have a short in the horizontal deflection circuits or High Voltage transformer. If the set had a "great" picture, it may be worth fixing providing you aren't planning to upgrade to a HDTV anytime soon, otherwise I would use this excuse to start looking for a new set. Worst case I can envision with this set would be one of the picture tubes having a Short, keeping the set from turning on. That would make it unreparable.

Re:problems

Your TV is probably shutting down due to excessive current draw. Replace the filter capacitor in the power supply and cross your fingers. This will be a large, tall, and round shaped object near the location where your power cord goes into the TV. It has two pins and one is positive and other is negative. Do not get them crosses when installing new part. keever

TV won' turn on

Solder, solder, solder! Shut down circuits protect crts to avoid permanent damage. If any of the deflection circuits are defective, or intermittent, shut down occurs. I have not only seen bad solder on deflection circuits, especially vertical, but also intermittent connections on the yokes themselves. I've also seen shorted convergence ics cause shut down. Don't forget solder connections in the power supply.
