Gateway ML6720 has a problem with cpu fan

Did you replace it with the correct fan? Did you put a fresh coat of Thermal Paste under the CPU and heat sink? If not, that could be your problem.

Latitude D600 PC Notebook: Installed new RAM 1G on Dell Lat600,Now CPU is run...

It is not the memory causing the issue. You either have a clogged fan and heat sink or a bad fan. This will solve most heat issues with the laptop.http://www.diefer.de/i8kfan/faq.html

Install this software and put the fan on manual high. That should help a lot if the fan is still working.

The fan of my celsius H230 cracked down. now i want to replace it but somehow i dont figure how to remove the stupid case? can anyone help me?

Its alittle tricky. Have you ever removed laptop cases before?

If you have not I dont recomend it unless you are confident to follow instructions and do not loose any part that you remove from the laptop

If you are confident in following instructions and do not loose parts while disassembling the unit proceed to #1

1) Remove all screw with a perscision screw driver (a very small philips head screw driver) from the bottom of the case.

2) Remove the ram door and all other doors from the bottom of the unit

3) LOOK CAREFULLY to see if removing the bottom exposes the fan.

4) if not go to the front of the unit and remove the keyboard CAREFULLY

5) the keyboard ususally is screwed down so try lifting pannels carefully to see if they come loose.

At this point you MUST BE VERY CAREFULL to open this case. ANY BRUTAL FORCE TO OPEN THE CASE CAN CRACK THE CASE.

6) once you remove the keyboard, you should see the fan.

7) the fan is usually plugged into the motherboard, disconnect the fan and unscrew it out of the motherboard.

Hopefully you have the new fan on you

8) replace the fan with your new one and after you replug it into where the old one was, put eveything back to gether again VERY VERY CAREFULL making sure you put back every part and screw to where they were originaly are

After everything is completed, test the new fan by turning the unit.

Your new fan should work well. If it does not, either the motherboard needs replacing or your new fan is defective

Hope this helps

Msi vr610 fan very noisy.how do i cure, get new part

Its a typical failure of MSI fans from those times. Unfortunately the exchange part will not solve your problem. (I read it in comments lots of times.) I own a VR610 and fixed the problem with grease. I disassembled the fan and took out the paddle wheel. I cleaned the pin and the hole both and filled the hole with grease. I used small portion of (lithium based) grease like on bicycle. The fan is noiseless since 1,5 years. :)

Fan error message "fan system failed to on in previous boot up"

Your fan speeds up and slows down in response to temperature inside the computer. More so the CPU.

I would suggest getting a can of compressed air made for computers

take it outside, take of the side and blow all the gunk out of there, Really go to town around the fan (you might want to wear eye protection)
While you are in there just check that the CPU cooler itself is not loose

If it is it will have to be re-seated.

If it needs re-seating don't just take it off and put it back on as that might make things worse with your temperature problem the have to be cleaned and new thermal grease put on

I think this may be your problem before you buy a new CPU make sure you check the cooler assembly and make sure you use new thermal grease ($2-5)

DON'T remove the CPU just the fan/cooler assembly.

You must clean both the surfaces without scraping anything off. Use isopropynol alcohol and cotton bud sticks until both surfaces are clean, you can use your finger nail to scrape harder residue if you wish but nothing else.

DON'T pour the alcohol over the CPU

Now apply some new thermal grease (most computer shops have it)
Be careful about how much you put on
Here are
some basic instructions
Once you have re-assembled your cooler and re-connected it check everything is OK and power up the computer.

If everything went to plan you should now be back in business

Replacing a fan on a Sony PCG-6G4L notebook

You can download manuals, etc. at http://esupport.sony.com/ You can also order parts from there. There are several models listed for the PCG-6G4L that you specify, so I can't be as specific as I'd like to be, but you will be able to find it easily and put your new fan in :-)

Fan has stopped working

Go to http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DocumentIndex.jsp?contentType=SupportManual&lang=en&cc=us&docIndexId=64179&taskId=135&prodTypeId=321957&prodSeriesId=3466274

Download the Service Manual. It will walk you through the disassembly process. You can easily install a replacement fan assembly yourself.

Good luck.
