Question about PC Desktops

Downloaded FaxTools eXPert and then received the CD. Paid by CC order #1019651306...CD says the reg# is wrong.. I have never been able to send a FAX using this software. Tell me how to fis or credit my CC.. I am not computer smart but, I ought to be able to figue this out. It keeps saying I have a SMPT Problem. Please Advise...Robert Harp bobharp@bellsouth.net

If you can send (SMTP) and receive email (POP3) then there can't be anything wrong with your settings!

Sorry I can't resolve this issue for you, but at least you know your not on your own

Do you any antivirus or firewall please give exceptions and then install the software and try to fax ,if you still encounter same problem then you can contact the company support LINK:

Hi,

IF the registration no. given to you is wrong then the only way to get that is to call the customer support of faxtools and get another one.Just tell them your order no.

Since the reg# number is not working it will be better for you to return that where you purchased it , because you paid for it that's should be working fine..

Unistall the software and re install using the CD.
this should clear the trial dowloaded.

      Hi

      Normally, we can’t send email through the SMTP server of one ISP while currently connected to a different ISP. To resolve this, simply send ur email using the SMTP settings of the currently-being used ISP, and just set the reply/return address to your original email address.

      For example:

      Your corporate email is hosted by, say, ispOne.com
      If you send email, you use smtp.ispone.com (assumption lang ng smtp server)

      But if your current connection to the internet is SmartBro.
      Your smtp settings should be smtp.smartbro.net for it to pass through, else you may get a relay error.

      If you’re using Outlook Express, create two email accounts - one for ispOne and another for SmartBro. You can still receive msgs sent to your ispOne inbox and able to send outgoing email.

      Hi,

      I actually setup my SMTP (I’m using ThunderBird) to smtp.smartbro.net but it still not working. I keep getting an error.

      But when I tried to send mails in my smartbro account (provided by them) the email was sucessfully sent. Seems I cannot send emails from other domain than smart bro.

      Please advise.

      yeah that’s absolutely right. i tried sending a couple of mails to a “@yahoo.com” domain but i just failed. on the first few days after i setup my ms outlook it was working fine. there seem to be a problem on their server not ours.

      btw, i use this setup on ms outlook. never tried thunderbird though.

      incoming mail: pop.smartwifi.com.ph
      outgoing mail: smtp.smartbro.net

      try setting up other email clients like ms outlook and test it there or disable any firewall if you have one.

    2. here’s how I fixed it. Leave your POP3 setting as is. Change your SMTP to smtp.smartbro.net

    3. Now the bit it doesn’t tell you anywhere on the internet….

    4. In “More settings…”/Outgoing Server check the MY outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication. Check the button for Log on Using and input your username and password given to you by Smart. Click OK , next, finish. Go back and try to send test email

    5. No username or password coz Smart forgot to tell you???? Username is the first letter of you first and second name plus your family name. eg Charles B Atlas -> cbatlas and the password is 123456

    6. Switch OFF any STMP accelerators such as OnSpeed if you have them installed.

    2. I’m having the same exact problem - could not send email when using outlook 2007 but i could receive one.

    3. I’ve already these settings:

    4. incoming mail: pop.smartwifi.com.ph
      outgoing mail: smtp.smartbro.net

    5. and

    6. incoming mail: pop.smartbro.net
      outgoing mail: smtp.smartbro.net

    13. I hate to call smart TS because it’s BS to wait for so long on the line and be placed on a loooooooooooong hold for no resolution.

    14. WHen doin the repair/diags, POP3 appears to be good but the prob here is with the smtp which appears to be a problem with the server itself - and our ISP should take care of this concern. I’ve already emailed them and never got a response. That’s pretty odd..

      one more thing.. i can’t send emails using other domain, specially my own personal domain email address.. bull-**** to all developer/engineer of technical broadband that can’t solve this kind of **** puzzle. IMOE i have tried to send many times in Smart ***, but no luck. and when i use Globe ****, it can send many as you can. so, is this the time that do we need to jump ship to the other ?

    Usually when you buy on line a program they send a link and one email with the confirmation and the link to get the program. Check your email first.
    Go back to the site where you bought the program and see if some phone number is available to call them.

    Another tip is

    Open Internet Explorer, then go to History and find the place (url) where you have been downloaded the program.

    How do I fax?


    Sending a fax from your computer requires a fax modem and that your operating system be configured to allow you to send and receive faxes.

    232-A communication failure has occurred between the two machines.
    327-*Reattempt the fax reception at a different time when telephone line conditions have improved. Call the telephone provider if line conditions fail to improve.
    356-The remote user has pressed the Stop key, causing the session to be aborted.
    442-An error occurred during transmission after one or more partial pages had been sent. The transmitting machine was unable to restart the control channel (handshaking) before sending more data.     I would like to use my epson stylus cx7800 to receive and send fax's. Can this be done. Please explain and instruct. Thanks. lstrat@telusplanet.net


    If you are running Windows, and have a modem, you can use the Windows Fax Services which are built in.

    You may not have it installed, as it's an optional component. Go to Control Pane/Add Remove programs. Select Windows Components on the left hand side. If Fax services is not checked, do so, and press OK. You may need your original Windows install CD to complete the task.

    Norton Antivirus 2008 purchased 4th July 2008 Order No.1644036072 £29.99. Confirmed paid on my Bank Statement.Can't Download. Need help as I keep getting reminders and I am not sure if I am covered.


    No, even if you completed the purchase the antivirus is not active yet. You should have received, in the email used for the order, a link to the download, and a registration number.
    Download the install program from the link and if required use the reg. number.
    If you cannot find the email with the link check in spam mail, and in trash bin.
    If you still cannot install the update, proceed from here to contact Symatech regarding your order, tell you cannot find the download, they will send a new one.
    After installing the antivirus, you will need to connect to the internet to validate installation.

    Ordered Antivirius 2008 over the internet but hasn't registered on my computer. it also charged me more than what it costed. i need help getting that Antivirus on my computer.


    What is the brand of your Antivirus 2008? Is it Norton? Have you received an e-mail from the company? Will they send you a disk or you downloaded the software? And then, if it was downloaded, when you tried to execute it, did you get an error message?

    if you are behind a firewall, open the settings and reduce to medium-high, these programs may need to access your computer to establish your i.p address or similar.
