"handheld synchronization" folder appears in outlook after hotsync

Why is this "notes" folder created? Where is it pulling this information from? Does anyone else have this folder?

SOURCE: Corrupt Date Book Fixed

Updated Instructions Simple fix for a corrupted Date Book sync error (at least it worked for me on my Treo 650). 1). Turn off 'Show Calendar Event' in the Phones 'Options - General Preferences' menu. 2). Turn off phone. 3). Set the Date/Time to the maximum limits (12/31/31) in Preferences. 4). Open the Calendar and view the maximum day 12/31/31. 5). Select 'Purge - (Delete events older then 1 week)' in the Calendars Options menu. 6). Reset the Date/Time to the current day in Preferences. 7). Hotsync (Desktop Calendar overwrites handheld). 8). Hotsync again to make sure you don’t get the error (Synchronize the files). That’s it. =============================== Outlook Calendar The attempt to open the database failed. Date Book application database is not found. Please invoke the Date Book application on the handheld once and re-synchronize. SOURCE: MS Outlook syncs calendar, notes but not contacts

Click on the hotsync icon in your system tray and then click "custom". That will bring up the list of things you are configured to sync with (conduits). For each of the ones you have problems with, click that conduit and then make sure it's set to sync the way you want...desktop overrides, handheld overrides, syncronize, etc. Potentially you have some of them selected as "do nothing". What shows up when I click custom from hotsync are the following Outlook Conduits: Calendar, Contacts, Tasks and Memos. If you don't have those showing up, you need to update your Outlook conduits on your PC. If you have them, click to select the problem conduit, then click "change" and select what you want to have happen.

SOURCE: outlook not synching

I had the same issue. It has something to do with Intelisync wireless sync - it's incompatible with outlook syncronization (and even the palm desktop syncronization). I used Intelisync wireless sync and then when I tried to sync at home, I got the same error messages. I resolved this problem by deleting Intelisync wireless sync from my Treo 650 applications (there were two entries), and hotsync'd again - and it worked - except it duplicated all my contact entries, but not my calendar entries. Who'd have thunk? At any rate, I don't have Intelisync wireless sync on my Treo 650 anymore, but at least outlook data now syncronizes. Poor showing Verizon, Palm, and Intelisync!

SOURCE: Sync fails with "too many open databases"

This is what I did to fix that error:

Hard-reset your Palm to erase all data (that usually involves pushing the small "reset" button on the back, then pressing the "power on" button until the device boots, and then pressing "up" to confirm the hard-reset)

After that, sync your palm. The sync software will ask if you want to use your existing profile or create a new one. Create a new one. Then the program will offer to sync your Outlook profile with your Palm. Click on "ok", and a message asking you to accept to sync your Outlook data with more than one profile will pop-up. Click on OK, again... and that's it!

Outlook not synching

This is how I got it working. Don't use wireless sync software, someting is definitely buggy with it. Here is what I did to resolve sync errors: 1. Perform a hard reset on the Palm 2. Go to the Palmone folder on your hard drive (C:\Program Files|PalmOne. Look for the Backup folder. Rename this folder Backup Old. 3. Connect the Treo to your computer. 4. Right click the Hotsync icon in the taskbar and click Custom. Change the four Outlook conduits (Calendar, Contacts,Tasks,Memos) to Desktop overwrites Handheld. 5. Run a Hotsync with the Treo. It should sync without errors. If you need to install additional applications you can add them now

T5 Outlook Calendar Synchronization failed - Any one have a fix?

I went to the MY COMPUTER folder, clicked open PROGRAM FILES, open PALMONE folder, open the username folder and deleted the back-up files. However, before I did this I deleted all of the problems dates in the PC calendar and set the hotsync to PC overrides handheld. While this works, unfortunately I have found that I need to do it every once in a while which is very disappointing. It seems that Windows does not operate seamlessly with the Palm T5. I find that the hotsync crashes 50% of the time forcing me to reset my Palm T5. No information is lost, but it is really a pain in the *** to have to do so often. Versamail hotsync sometimes freezes on the handheld, but that is another issue which I have managed to fix much in the same way as describe above.

Is possible to sync only a specific folder of Outlook?

Yes - you can specify which folders. By default the VersaMail conduit synchronizes the Inbox folder from your Outlook/Exchange account. If you do just as you mentioned creating a MyPalm folder, you will be able to have only that folder synchronize. Open up the Custom menu item from the HotSync icon. From there select the VersaMail conduit and double click it. Select the account from the dialog that appears - if you have multiple VersaMail accounts, the one to choose is your Outlook profile name. Then click on the Advanced button. Choose the rightmost tab which is called Folders. Here you can individually select the folders which do and which do not synch. Turn the Inbox folder to No and turn the MyPalm folder the Yes. That is it.

Override

What you're talking about is what is called a "collision" when it comes to syncing devices. You use the options in the hotsync manager to decide how to handle collisions.

Open Palm Desktop.
Go to Hotsync->Custom
Pick the outlook calendar conduit
Select if you want to synchronize intelligently, have outlook overwrite the handheld, or have the handheld overwrite outlook.

Typically if the treo detects both records on outlook and on the treo, and you've set it to synchronize intelligently, it will make dupliate records and post a message at the end of the hotsync operation.
