Washer does not agitates

Washer agitator does not move, washer does not spins, does drain the water without rotating the drum.
We had a problem with spining last month, replaced a switch and everything worked well, today I smell like rubber burning and washer stoped working

Sounds like you've already replaced your lid switch and now the washer stopped agitating and spinning, but WILL still drain water. If I'm understanding these symptoms correctly, these are common symptoms of a broken motor coupling. The burning rubber smell is another symptom as the coupler has a rubber bushing that can tears apart when the coupler breaks. There may also be a strange rattling noise associated with these symptoms too. The coupling is located between the drive motor and gearcase (transmission) and this is what transfers the energy from the drive motor to drive the transmission, which makes the drum spin and agitate. It is common for this coupling to wear out, strip, or break over a period of time. This is a very inexpensive replacement part (usually $15 or less) and can be replaced easily by the average do-it-yourselfer with a little guidance. Some of the orginal motor couplings that came from the manufacturer were totally made of plastic. Over a period of time (especially with heavy loads) the center shaft on the coupling would strip out and the coupler would free spin. The manufacturer came out with a new improved, longer life coupling with a steel grommet. The link provides you with the new part number and where you can order the part if you wish go online. If you do not wish to order from the website, take the part number provided and go to your nearest appliance parts retailer. This is a common part they carry. I hope this helps you. This is for an LW7503W2B washer. We have water on the floor during agitate with large loads. The water is comming over the edge of the tub. I have noticed the tub rotates in what I would call a slow...

I had the same problem. You need a brake kit. it holds the drum still while in the agitate mode. the centrifical force of the water during that slow spin is causing the water to spill over the top of your drum. easy and cheap fix.

If you see the agitator moving, but not the tub..I guess, you have a defective transmission..this is tough without knowing a little more info.

I have a maytag over capacity plus heavy duty 2 speed 10 cycle washer it fills with water fine you hear the motor kick in to girate but doesent spin or you put it on spin cycle it sounds like it is...

The motor is working, but the mechanism not engaged by the helix so the shaft can not move therefore no agitation or spinning. Motor is designed to turn 2 directions: clockwise and counterclockwise for agitation and spinning. Therefore there are 2 mechanisms to assist these tasks. The drain is control by a separate pump and it is still good also.
The tube has to be out to replace the helix for agitation and a part to engage with the spinning rotation to release the brake so the spinning function can work. These parts are cheap, but the the labor is not. Hope this can help
