Water inlet is controlled by a level switch and hot/cold water valves,( solenoids). It seems most likely that one of the water valve diaphragms is faulty;turn off hot and then cold taps to determine which one is leaking.A handy person can often strip the valve and replace the diaphragm, or else
a service person may be needed.
At times, the water is measured by weight,(depth) and during spray rinse by the timer, therefore, if you are using a cold rinse, ,most likely the cold valve is faulty.

I have a Kenmore model 110.25132411 in the rinse cycle only water takes a long time to fill. Then it just drains and doesn't spin.

If your Kenmore washing machine is having trouble filling and then drains without spinning during the rinse cycle, there could be a few possible causes.
  1. Water supply issue: The first thing to check is the water supply. Make sure the water supply valves are fully open and there are no kinks or blockages in the hoses. Also, check the water pressure and make sure it meets the manufacturer's requirements.
  2. Faulty water inlet valve: The water inlet valve is responsible for controlling the water flow into the washing machine. If the valve is faulty, it may not be allowing enough water to enter the machine, which can cause the filling to take a long time. It could also be stuck in the drain position, causing the machine to drain instead of filling. You may need to replace the water inlet valve.
  3. Clogged filter screens: If the filter screens in the water inlet valve are clogged with debris or hard water deposits, it can restrict water flow and cause the machine to fill slowly or not at all. Try cleaning the filter screens to see if this improves the water flow.
  4. Faulty pressure switch: The pressure switch monitors the water level in the washing machine and tells the control board when to start and stop the filling and draining cycles. If the pressure switch is faulty, it may not be sending the correct signals to the control board, which can cause issues with the filling and draining cycles.
If you have checked the water supply and filter screens and they appear to be working correctly, it may be necessary to replace the water inlet valve or pressure switch. If you are not comfortable performing these repairs yourself, it may be best to contact a qualified appliance repair technician to diagnose and fix the problem.

Lg top load washer keeps filling and has to be manually stopped but it will drain when put on the spin cycle.

HI,

From your description, it sounds like there may be a problem with the inlet water solenoid valve(s). They can stick after several years of use. The se valves are located in the machine, just inside where you connect the water hoses.

Why is my GE top load mechanical washer not filling with water?

You may need to use a Y adapter to feed pressure to both inlets to get the machine to fill. If it senses no pressure on one inlet it wont fill. You can run both inlets to on source. Since you did not post the model number it is hard to say. Some machines also test the water temp to see if it is warm enough to start or it needs to preheat.

IE code was displayed once. washer will not stop filling or spinning, clock freezes one minute past start up for wash cycle and while washer fills fast and in less than 5 minutes the washer does not stop...

The fault you have is a faulty inlet valve or possibly an electronic controller fault, you need to check with a multi meter if the inlet solenoid is always getting power or if there is constant power, (take care as this is mains power, if in doubt pay a professional to test) if the power stops but the water keeps flowing this is a relatively easy fix with a replacement inlet solenoid, if they fail the water pressure can hold them open and the machine will keep filling.
If there is always power to the solenoid then you have a faulty electronic control board.

Washer spins constantly

It is possible that the machine does not start off the cycle because there are errors due to feedback from the inputs. For the program to start up the main program controller must initiate the INLET/MOTOR/DRAIN pump/ valve to open up and allow each function to be driven starting from the flow of water into the drum as also the drain valve to open to exit the water at the point of the program cycle. If this does not happen then the voltage at the valve/motor/pump must be checked or the fault relates to no voltage from the controller. This means the controller is a suspect.

If the water flows though the inlet then the flow pressure should be good, if not the inlet valve is bad or there is dirt in the filter. Also check the flow at the inlet of the water line. Once the water comes into the system the WATER LEVEL SENSOR - normally a pressure switch- must activate at the preset/chosen level to give the signal to the program controller to switch on the motor. What is most important for the motor to start functioning is that the door switch must be ON when the door is shut or this will be an error for starting the motor for rinse and wash.

Test a pressure switch: Click on : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HZZ2bDMspj8

Check this link to replace the inlet valve:

http://www.espares.co.uk/advice/washing-machines/a/7/1408/how-to-replace-the-inlet-valve-on-a-washer-dr.html

Finally after the wash the drain valve will be activated, the water is allowed to come in to rinse and then finally the dry spin with the drain valve/pump activated so as to drain off all the water from the clothes during the spin.

Make sure that a fault in any of the cycle will relate to the specified action, so check the command from the program module and then the executing device be it the valve or motor or pump.

Hi my hotpoint ultima wmd960 of 2 half years, when i put a wash on it starts and fills up for about 3 mins later it comes up :no water, check supply, then starts ti drain water away ,then fills up again,so...

Please check your inlet water hose for any clogging that may be stopping the proper flow. some machines are programmed to get filled in particular given interval of time. they need proper pressure to properly work. Remove the hose and clean the wire mesh filter.

It wont drain the water away after a wash we

sounds like your pump may be gone, or could be pipe blocked. to check pipe fill machine take outlet pipe at rear of machine and lay this into a bowl. If water flows ok then all pipes are clear. As water is coming through just put machine onto spin cycle and raise hose to see if water will then pump out.

The drain/spin cycle always adds water

It's normal if it just adds a little bit of water. It does this so your drain pump impeller doesn't run dry which could damage it. If it's filling right up, there could be a malfunction with the control board, the pressure switch or the inlet valve .

You could try shutting off the water supply at the taps before you start the drain/spin cycle.
Good luck!

WF860 drum filling with water

Normally I would think that the problem is with the drain system (faulty pump or clogged lines), but you told me that also "When the washing machine is not bein.g used the drum slowly starts to fill with water!!" therefor I think it can be a dafective inlet valve or a faulty control assembly.
In either case, you will need a technician to fix this.
