How do u decrese/increase the mtu? i've been havin problem connecting my xbox 360 to live causethe mtu is to low.

Mine has been doing that lately too. Log into your router or what ever supplies internet to your xbox. Make sure the MTU is 1364 or higher. My router is set up to that and it still does that and doesn't work until the next day after about 12 hours I would guess. The xbox tells you what to do also.

This option is available via the web interface under the WAN Settings screen.

It's not up yet . Do you know of anyone else on it already? I think it's still being fixed.

I felt really stupid when I spent a couple hours trying to fix this. XBox Live is down today, June 16, 2009 until late tonight or early tommorow. No one's XBox Live connection is working right now.

I assume you mean you can't play games online?

Is your account Gold or Silver? (Go the the Marketplace blade, then down to account information, membership.)

You can only game online with a Gold subscription, which is like $50/year.

what kind of router are you using to connect your xbox 360 to? usually you can define the MTU size in the router configuration.. default for xbox 360 live is 1364 ... check out your web configuration on your router to see if you can change this!

What does MTU do on Xbox Live?

The MTU of your router or gateway must be greater than or equal to 1365. If it is less than 1365, you won’t be able to connect to Xbox Live.

To change the MTu login to your admin router panel:

1. Go to start>Run>cmd>type ipconfig
2. look for "default gateway" then type that address into your router login, usally the login is admin/admin if not look in your manual or call your router maker.
3. Now login locate the area to adjust the MTU if you cant find it, contact the router maker, or look in your manual.
