Just got an imac from my kids school and have no idea if you can hook it up to the internet using same yahoo DSL I use for my windows.

If you have a router it should be a simple as plugging and ethernet cable into the imac and then to the router.

Removing the software using Uninstall Manager

Bitcomet listen port is blocked


Hello,
You need to forward the specific port bit comet uses to listen,in your
router.To do this follow the below steps.

1) Go to this page http://portforward.com/
2) Scroll down the page and search for your modem/Router and
click on it.
3) Select the aplication from the list,in this case Bitcomet.
4) Now follow the step-by-step guide on this page to successfully forward your bit comet port.
Once you have done that restart your bitcomet and the listen port should now turn green indicating that it is open and functioning properly.Hope it helped.

well, one way would obviously be a shotgun and a visit to the school, but if you like to do the stuff more conventional way:
Log into the router with 10.1.1.1 password admin, username admin.
go to wifi, activate wpa2 protection, NOTE THE PASSWORD OF WPA2 KEY, maybe even change SSID name (your wifi name), make it invisible and that's it

When I have my router hooked directly to my computer it works fine. When I hook it up so the kids can use their laptops, the speed is very slow.


I think the first thing you should try to verify if the signal is strenght enough, because if it is not so the speed will be slow too.

Open the network panel in the system preferences..
Check the list order on the left of the window... you can drag them to the order you want
Internet connection window is for a modem... if you're using dsl or cable, you can delete modem from your list by highlighting the modem on the list and clicking on the minus sign at the bottom of the list...

Yes it can be done if you are in OS9 under your apple menu control panels you will see a Tcp/ip setting. In there change the setting to modem built in then put in the phone number you wish to dial and it should work. There also use to be a setting called free PPP that would work also.

How to connect to dsl


You need to install either an "airport card" in your system or if you already have one in your computer, you need to download "airport" from the apple website. This is the only way MAC's can receive wireless signal.

Hooking up to at@t yahoo DSL modem, with a westell 327w


conect the cables correctly, connect the dsl cable to the internet slot and a ethernet cable to the modem and the laptop, check if u r able to go online wired first, if not contact ur isp at&t and they would help you out to set it up first, and then u can check
