we had a repair guy come out and say that the ballast (power suply to the lamp) and the lamp was bad. ballast part # is 1-468-875-11 snd the lamps part # is A-1085-447-A. the retail price of both parts are $530.35 together. $195.07 for ballast and $300.58 for the lamp. with a little bit of research though you should be able to knock that down in half. he said that the ballast didn't have a chance to cool properly and is now acting in protection mode. he also said to plug it into the wall and not a surge protector. hope that was helpfull. -n

There are 4 1000 mf. 35 V caps. on the AC IN pwb. (power supply) that are chronic fail items. After back is off, slide the chasis on the left side back toward you. Slide about 1/2 inch and it will lift out of track and then the chasis will be more accessible. The said caps are the tallest on the bd. and 2 are located side by side on the bottom front of the chassis. The other two are side by side about an 1 1/2 above the other 2. Most likely the top of the caps are pooched out. Replace all 4 whether they look bad or not. Problem solved
