Well it is possible that it is corrupted.

but try these steps first

plug it to another port.
download firmware for the device from the device website.
if that work its great

if not then format it. just to let u know by formatting you will loose all the data inside.

cheers

HP pc854n does not turn on when buttonis pushed in, but green light is on on back of computer

Hi Robert,
Check the hard disks power connection.Make sure its well connected.Unplug the hard drive's power and then fit it back.Do the same with the interface cable[broad mostly 16 pins cable that goes from the motherboard into the hard drive]Also check the CMOS battery, probably remove it and fix it back making sure its firmly seated on its enclosure.[Removing the CMOS battery means you will have to reset date and time on your PC.]Check the RAM's and make sure they're well seated into their slots. You can remove them, wipe their slots off dust, and the fit them back.

Hope this helps.Thanks Robert!

How to upload photo

Transferring images from a Memory Card to a Windows Computer Follow the steps below to transfer images from a memory card to a computer running Windows. Step one: Insert the memory card Follow the steps below to insert the memory card into the HP All-in-One.
  1. Turn the memory card so that the label faces left, and the contacts are facing your HP All-in-One.
  2. Insert the memory card into the appropriate slot on the HP All-in-One.
NOTE: Some portable USB flash drives with a read-only partition, such as U3 smart drives, might be incompatible with the front mass-storage port on your HP All-in-One. These read-only partitions are added by the drive manufacturer and may include utilities and other software. Refer to the manufacturer for additional details about your drive. When the memory card is inserted correctly, the Photo light next to the memory card slots begins to blink. The message Reading... appears on the color graphics display. The status light next to the memory card slots blinks green when the card is being accessed. If a memory card is inserted incorrectly, the status light next to the memory card slots blinks amber and the color graphics display shows an error message such as Card is in backwards or Card is not fully inserted. CAUTION: Never attempt to remove a memory card while it is being accessed. Doing so can damage files on the card. Safely remove a card only when the status light next to the slots is not blinking.
Step two: Transfer images without using the HP Photosmart software After inserting the memory card into the HP All-in-One, the memory card appears as a drive on the computer. Follow the steps below to transfer the images on the memory card to the computer.
  1. Press the Photo button to display the Photo menu.
  2. Press the down arrow button (c01133817.jpg ) to select Transfer to computer .
  3. Follow the prompts on the computer to complete the transfer of images.
NOTE: If there are photo files on the memory card that have never been transferred before, a dialog box on the computer asks whether you want to save the photo files to the computer. Click the Transfer option and all the new photos from the memory card are saved to the computer.By default, the image files are saved in month and year folders depending on when the photos were taken. The folders are created under the C:\Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\My Pictures folder.

Blue light blinking on disk rather than green

the blue light blinking means that the hard drive is being accessed by the ACU (array configuration utility), it can be locally or remote
The light illuminates so that you can identify the disk that you are selecting from the utility.
it does not show any degraded status or possible error

HP DV6000

This is going to be either a memory problem or a motherboard component problem. Start by removing the memory, then trying them one at a time in each slot. If your other machine has the same memory then try that memory in the nonworking machine. If it does the same, after the memory test, then you have a motherboard component failure, these are difficult to run down and you will need to have it professionally diagnosed.

same thing happened here. Hubby was able to remove memory card by inserting a VERY small screwdriver under the memory card and catching on an indentation. He was then able to remove the disk from the slot.
