Question about Panasonic CQ-VD7001U Car DVD Player

1 Answer

Code security I recently installed a panasonic vd7001u in dash dvd player. It worked for about a week, and I decided to try and bypass the e-brake. I guess when I unplugged it, it reset. Now it is asking for a code. I bought it from a pawn shop and do not have the code. Is there any way to reset it?

I am guessing the previous owner changed the password, because the default password does not work.

What i have done when i had one was i held the joystick on the player for about 3-5 seconds and then pressed the mode/power on the remote and it reset the player and entered in 0000 for the code and it works. just my personal experience.

How would one bypass the emergency brake to view a dual 7 inch touch screeen while driveing

On the radio wiring harness grond the wire that is marked emergency brake sensor/light wire. Be advised that it is illegal to have a dash mounted video player active while a vehicle is in motion, reason emergency brake has to be applied in order to watch.

Bypass parking brake wire

Boss Audio is the easiest in-dash DVD on the market to bypass; all you do is ground the ebrake wire. I recently installed 12 Boss Audio in-dash BV-7300's and did this to all of the decks problem solved. By the way I did this because they were in the back of limousines where the driver couldn't ever even see one of them while he was driving. I don't think there will be a problem, try it.

You need the remote control that goes with this DVD player to make it work it has two security devices. One you remote, you must push the power button on the remote the first time you use it. Two the security code, it is a four digit code that must be entered anytime that the device is installed into a different car. If it's code is not setup yet the code is 0000, otherwise you need to get the code from the person that installed it. There is no way to bypass the these two steps.

BYPASS

The security device was created to avoid you from watching DVD's while driving. It is simple to bypass. Simply take the parking brake wire (blue/yellow stripe wire) and connect it to the a ground wire (all black wire). This will trick the DVD player into thinking that the car is in park with the parking brake on at all times.
