Question about Palm Tungsten E Handheld

Synching a Replacement Tungsten

I just bought a new Tungsten E to replace my old one that has problems. I synch up with Outlook. If I enter in the same profile name as the old palm, and then synch, will it transfer all the data from Outlook into the new Palm? My fear is that it will do the reverse and delete all the information on my desktop...

You will need to Uninstall your old Software and Reinstall the new. If yours is like mine, You will come to a page that says "Regular" or Custom" Install. You need to select Custom and will later see two choices for Outlook or Palm.

Hotsync with two computers

I just posted a similar kind of problem. With my old M105, this worked fine - Outlook on my work computer, Palm Desktop on my home computer. When I upgraded to Zire 31, I saw that message about 2 computers once during the past week, but never again. I was thinking about using the Install CD again on my work computer to see if there is an option for synching between 2 computers. (synching to 2 different computers seems to be the most reliable backup for one bad synch)
