Question about Linksys RangePlus WRT100 Wireless Router
I am pretty sure the cables are connected right. But my internet will not connect once my Ethernet cable is moved from the computer into the wireless router Port one. DSL cable comes from the modem to the router. tell me what i am doing wrong.
When I connect my WRT110, I get a valid ip address when I run ipconfig. But the error report says cannont read the http. My old WRT546 still works. Tried on two computers - no luck. Also, the software that came with unit says cannot setup the network.

Make sure that the cable/dsl modem is connected to the blue port on the Linksys router that say's internet and your computer to any of the yellow ethernet ports. Check what is the IP address of your computer by typing ipconfig on the command prompt(assuming your using Windows, to open command prompt click start and go to Run and type cmd, a black windows will open normally it will say C:\Document\Settings\Owner>. Your computer should obtain an IP address of 192.168.1.x, open Internet Explorer and type this address on the address bar http://192.168.1.1 when you get a prompt for a username and a password, leave the username blank and type "admin" for a password from there you can now check the entire settings of your linksys router, check the Status and make sure your router is getting a valid Internet IP address if not you may require manually setting up the configuration of your ISP on the router.
