Re: power

Mike, Most PocketPC's will turn themselves on in certain situations: - A taks reminder is initiated - An apointment reminder is initiated - You syncronise your PDA with your PC These are just a few examples. However the PDA should turn itself off after a given amount of time, unless set to do otherwise. Go to your system settings, power, and change the time in which your device turns off. It may very well be that it's set to never switch off.

Blackberry shuts off and red light keeps flashing. I take the battery out and put it back in and it still wont work. Then randomly it will turn on and work for a bit. Im so lost, please help!

The flashing red light is telling you that the battery is almost drained down to capacity and that the phone must be plugged in now. When the charge is this low you are going to have to leave the phone recharge for at least 12 hours before trying to use it again. Once the phone is turned back on, the phone will reset itself. Good luck.

Your friend is 100% right, that is one sign. Another way to tell is if the battery is swollen or out of shape

LG Viewty KU990 - mine keeps switching itself off and then won't switch back on - any ideas please??

I think your battery is running out of power so
recharge it and wait for 1 or 2 min.

If not then you've to replace the battery.

I hope this will help.

My blackjack 2 just turns off

I found that when I locked the keys, it stopped shutting itself off. I guess I was hitting the power button or something. I just keep the keys locked all the time now, except when I'm using it. Hope that helps.

GPSR edge keeps trying to connect by itself...

It sounds like you have a program that wants to keep connecting to the web.

Make sure you are closing all of your programs with the task manager.

If you find the program that keeps trying to connect, try to see if you can tweak the settings so it doesn't auto-connect.

Device switches off by itself

the problem is a little microswitch that tells the unit to power off when the back cover is removed... it seems to be a common problem, causing the screen to go 'interlaced' and reset or hang, sometimes shaking causes it to restore itself. solution is remove the back cover (4 torx screws and 1 philips screw under the warranty tag) and glue the switch in the up position...

Time to replace the battery already?

Don't know about life on your unit but most run 3 hours plus, depending on the unit. I have one that does 3 and another that is supposed to do longer. You might pull your cf card and charge the battery and run the unit for the ten minutes and see if it will last. It could be that it is drawing a lot too much power. Now, this MIGHT give you indication of whether it is the battery or the unit itself, but don't know for sure. To run it down from a full charge in that short a time should make the battery quite warm so if you can get to the battery run it down and feel it to see if it is getting hot. If it is there is probably something wrong in the unit. If the battery isn't getting hot then I would say it could be a bad battery or it could still be the unit itself. If the unit works okay on the charger, I'd guess it is the battery. Cheap batteries - just look around and call around. We have a company called batteries plus here that has all sorts of odd batteries. You might check radio shack as well, they might have something that would fit.
