Stand-up Battery Charger

I own a HP iPAQ h5450 and two slim batteries . Recently, i bought a "Stand-up Battery charger" which claimed that it could charge both slim and extended batteries. However, I could not figure out how to attach the slim battery onto the charger. Is there something i missed?

If you are not using the original chargers it could be the type of charging cable. Not all cables that fit will charge the device correctly.

The charger might be bad. Or then the pdas connector is bad, or the motherboard is damaged.

to find out is your charger working you could use a tester to test it or another pda.

If you could get some power into the pda you could use the bootloader to test the device. Its been years since I had my 3850.

Il have to find instructions on how to get to the bootloader but test the other things first.

SOURCE: can't log on

where you able to perform the reset? if you wheren't then use a small pin or a needle to press the reset button.

if it sitll doesn't help you may have to perform a hard reset, it should fix the problem but you will lose all data stored in the memory, but everything on a storage card or safe storage / permanent storage will stay.

how to perform a reset or a hard reset:

I Also Had The Same Problem. Now I Fixed It. Go To Power In Settings. Click On The Advanced Tab. Uncheck The Box Which Says "Turn Off The Device If Not Used For" Box. This Will Solve The Problem. It Solved Mine. Thereafter Once, My Backlight Did Not Switch On. Fix This By Going Into Backlight Settings And Uncheck The Box Which Says "Turn Off The Backlight If Not Used For" Box. This Will Solve It. Then Soft Reset The Device To Change Settings. To Soft Reset, Find A Small Hole In The Left Hand Side Of The Device. Put Your Stylus In And PRESS ONLY ONCE. If You Keep It Pressed, Your Device Will Hard Reset. Don't Do That. Just Press ONCE.

SOURCE: My iPAQ 5555 won't charge.

After the battery discharges completely the Ipaq disables the battery (why I don't know). A simliar thing happened to me a few weeks back. Remove the battery and then if you can get your hands on a Torx-6 screwdriver unscrew the screws in the back and open the Ipaq - you'll probably need a flat head screwdriver to pry open the sides. I had to do this and then go further and disconnect the joypad daughter board for a different issue. After doing this and reassembling my battery started taking a charge again. If I were you I would go so far as opening it up and then putting it back together (i.e. skip the daughter board part). Hopefully that will get it charging again

I just bought a battery charger, plugged it in and its not charging

Hi there,

I suggest to you to buy a new battery for you HP iPAQ H4150 Pocket PC and see if that charger will charge it up. If the new battery does charge then the problem was with the old battery.

If it doesn't charge up on the new battery then, your problem lies with the battery charger. You should check that the voltage of the battery charger is compatible to charge the voltage of the battery.

Hope I have been of assistance to you,

Cheers :)

My HP iPAQ hx2755 Doesn't turn on I don't know if is the charger battery or the iPAQ

If you have a car charger, try it first. If it works - you'll know to replace your home charger. If it doesn't, then you need to replace the battery. Make sure and charge the new battery for 24 hours before using it in your phone for the first time. If it's not the battery, you'll need to send your phone in for service / repair.

HP Ipaq does not turn on

Ufortunately, the battery is likely the culprit.
You can try removing the battery overnight, then leave on charger for at least 12 hours.

These batteries generally require replacement every 1-3 years. They deteriorate quite rapidly if left unused/uncharged for extended periods of time (like a year!)

Low Battery DATA Lose - HP iPAQ Model h5450 Packet PC

The h5450 comes with what HP calls a backup battery. It is built into the device and not accessible by the user. However, the backup battery has only enough juice to power the Pocket PC for a few minutes while you change main batteries. Don't expect it to keep your RAM data alive if the main battery runs out.

Failing to power up.

Had the same problem: the battery is simply exhausted. Suggest you buy a new battery. A possible solution you might try is to connect it to a charger and make a hard reset (loosing all data and programs stored). Good luck

My H5450 won't charge!

When you charge up your iPaq, do you use the cradle, or do you use the AC-adapter with the little iPaq power converter that came with the iPaq? Try both, and see if it charges up your pda. Try and borrow an iPaq car-charger and see if it charges up that way (the ones that do not need the iPaq power converter). If you are lucky enough to power up the iPaq even for 2 minutes, enable USB fast charging in the SETTING -> BATTERY. Your USB-data-cable or cradle will then be able to charge it up that way...
