IF YOUR UIT IS IN FACT 15 YEARS OLD IT CAN NOT BE A WKL MODEL, WKL ARE DIGITAL UNITS, WHAT YOU HAVE IS A WK4000 WITH A SCREW TEMPERATURE ADJUSTMENT IN BETWEEN THE GRILLS. A 15 YEAR OLD WK 4000 IS AN R-22 SYSTEM AND NOT WORTH REPAIRING AND IF THE METAL IS RUSTED YOU CAN NOT BUY MORE METAL BASES FOR THAT UNIT FROM THE MANUFACTURER, BREEZAIRE HAS DROPPED ALMOST ALL THE COMPONENTS FOR THE UNIT ONLY THINGS AVAILABLE ARE FANS,COILS AND THERMOSTAT. BUY THE REPLACEMENT WKL4000 DIGITAL SAME DIMENSIONS AND COOLING CAPACITY.
You can look on the fan motor for the mfds on it. Probably a 7.5 micro-farad since this is a 3 ton unit. Because this unit is gonna take a 1/3rd hp motor @ 1050 rpm and that usually needs a 7.5 mfd capacitor. If I had to guess I would say you probably needs a 35 x 7.5 @ 370 cap Just a guess now :D
clean both coils(fins)and drain use non-detergent non additive oil(not motor car oil) for fan motor take cover off compressor relay and inspect wires(clean plugs and pins of oxide) you may need a hard start kit if it has a hard time starting
Remember air will only move as fast as the size of the exhaust pipe in relationship to the fans ability to push. Make sure yours is the proper size for the fans volume.
