How do I turn off ice maker

Good Afternoon Rsimmon5,

I see that you are trying to turn off the ice maker to your Frigidaire refrigerator, model# FRS6R5EMB. You will be moving the signal arm to turn your refrigerator off.

To begin ice production, lower the wire signal arm to the DOWN or ON position. The ice maker turns off automatically when the ice container becomes full. To stop the ice maker, raise the wire signal arm until it clicks and locks in the UP or OFF position.

If you have any trouble with your ice maker continuing to make ice after this, I recommend contacting either the manufacturer or an authorized technician in your area. Hope this helps.

-Best Regards-
WP

Icemaker 200D1181G026 WR30X10061 model can15. Is there anyone who can test it and rpair it. It jst stopped working. Water supply ok.

The icemaker system on these machines requires 3 things:
A working ice maker. a working water valve, and 28 degrees or better in the freezer.
Nothing else in the frig controls ice production. Most times the water valve goes first. It is recommended to replace it when replacing the ice maker. Replace the water valve now and see if the ice production starts up. If it does not you will need to get a new ice maker, the old ones are not repairable.

I have a model ed2nhgxtq00 whirlpool refrigerator. The problem I am having is that it doesn't make ice as fast as it used to. What do I need to do? Thanks!

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly

First off check the freezer door switch for operation. Depress the plunger and make sure the light goes off when the door switch plunger is depressed. Light stays on = bad door switch / no ice production as the door switch provides power to the ice-maker when the door is closed.
Additionally in your case make sure that the evaporator fan is running at full speed. A slow running evaporator fan will cause the freezer compartment cooling to suffer.

Another thing that can cause the freezer temps to start rising is dirty condenser coils in the bottom of the unit. Make sure that the coils are free of lint and that the condenser fan is running at full speed. Usually when there is a problem with the condenser coil air-flow the cabinet of the unit will be VERY warm to the touch on the front in the door seal area. It is supposed to be warm.... just not VERY warm.

Here is a link to the steps on how to troubleshoot an ice-maker.

http://www.american-appliance.com/catalog/newsdesk_info.php?newsPath=12&newsdesk_id=34

Let me just add that many ice-maker related problems are due to the freezer temp rising above 16 deg F. The freezer starts warming up due to ice build up on the evaporator coils and then the internal air-flow is blocked by the ice build up causing the temps to rise. Look closely at the back of the unit for any signs of ice build up.
If you see ice build up......
1. Unplug the unit
2. Remove the freezer contents
3. Place a fan directing air into the freezer for just over 2 hours. (Water mess!)
4. Clean up the excess water and restart the unit. (Add freezer content)
5. After 8 - 10 hours check for NORMAL ice production.

If after doing the above you have ice NORMAL production then most likely you have an automatic defrosting problem.

If it still does not make ice, the steps in the link above will isolate what has failed in the ice-maker.

Before testing the ice-maker using the steps in the link.. I recommend you peform a manual defrost with a fan. If 8 - 10 hours after the manual defrrost you do not have ice production,, use the link and troubleshoot the ice maker.

Here is a 2nd link for ice-maker troubleshooting that includes testing the optical system of the ice-maker:

The above link goes directly to the ice-maker but, using the diagrams on the left side of the page it will bring up all other sections also if you click on them.

Could you double check your model number. I am unableto pull that model number up. You mentioned that your ice makehas stoppedworking. This could be several things, like water control valve, defective ice maker, defective ice maker thermostat and more. Let me know,Thanks, SeaBreeze b8e6bdd.jpgWHIRLPOOL PRODUCT MANUALS

Brand new ice maker, water fill to tray will not shut off

The new ice maker should tell the dual water valve on rear of refrigerator to turn on if the tray makes a complete cycle. So the new ice maker is defective or the water valve on back is stuck open that leads up to the ice maker. Unplug the wires to the water control valve on back of the refrigerator and then turn the ice maker on. If the water continues to flow I recommend replacing the water valve. If the water stops coming to the ice maker I recommend returning the new ice maker. You only need to unplug the side of the water control valve leading to the ice make. I also recommend a pre-filter for the incoming water before the water control valve. Makes the water and ice better and keeps trash from damaging the water control valve. Let me know your results or if you need more assistance, Thanks, Sea Breeze

Water is sent to the ice maker at the same time that the front

Hi, I thought I sent you a response but I see it's still on so I'll try again. It sounds to me like the wires have be reversed on the two inlet valves. When the ice maker cycles, do you get water through the door?
If I can assist further, please let me know.

Thanks
