Contact Sony @ 1-877-253-SONY for a replacement system, this is a common defect that requires Sony to replace or repair your system.

How to install windows it's showing there is no hard disk in the system pls help me

If the BIOS does not detect the hard disk, then reseat the hard disk and then check the BIOS again.
The hard disk maybe faulty, if so you need a replacement.
If the BIOS detects the hard disk and you are installing Windows XP then -
The problem is that XPinstallation CD does not have a SATA driver, unless you have a SATA drive on adisk etc. and can install the driver when XP asks for a hard drive driver then,XP cannot detect the hard disk and therefore won't install XP.The FIX.Go into the BIOS anddisable the SATA drive (enable IDE emulation), this will make XP think it is aIDE/PATA hard disk. Then you can install XP normally. When Windows hasbeen installed then install all the device drivers (including the SATA driver),then shut down and boot up and got into the BIOS and enable the SATA drive.

Restored my ps3 system. Now the ps3 system does not reconize the hard disk. Also will say on reboot, cannot find the hard disk.

If the hard drive is not being detected ether you have lost the file table on the hard drive or the drive is having hard ware problems. The link below will take you through formatting the drive with a computer and seeing if the drive is having hardware problems.

A disk read error occured and keep on re-start

Please check that the hard disk is connected properly. If you know that the hard disk is working, check whether it is detected or not. If it's not detected, you'll need to recheck it again with the power supply. If possible, try it to another Laptop so that you can make sure that Hdd isn't the culprit. In case it's detected and the problem still persists, repair the operating system installation, this will definitely solve your problem. Good luck.

How do i fix the cannot find the correct hard disk problem in my PS3

Test you console with another harddisk to see if it detects the harddisk.

Also try a low level format on the harddisk with a pc so to ensure that there
is nothing left on the harddisk, when reinserted in the ps3, the ps3 needs
to fomat the harddisk, quick fomat will be enoug.
If the original harddisk is still not detected, then your harddisk is defective
and needs to be replaced, if the console also doen't detect the new harddisk then your ps3 needs to return to Sony because the sata controller on the motherboard of your ps3 is defective.

The hard disks file system is corrupted.

If you can still access the PS3 menu, then reformat your hard drive by going to:

Settings > System Settings > Format Utility > Format Hard Disk

If you cannot, then you can try:
1) Remove the Hard drive, connect it to a PC and reformat it.
2) Download the latest PS3 operating system from the Playstation website and store it on a USB drive. Then insert the USB drive into the PS3 and start the PS3, and then install the operating system from the USB.

Try updating the firmware. If it doesn't work, then take it to a repair shop, there's nothing you can do.

My PS3 will start to load Call Of Duty 5 then just goes blank..But will play other discs.Any Ideas?

When I had a similar issue with my PS2 (GT4 would not load) it was because the disk-reading laser was misaligned. That happened after using the system for many years, so if your system is new, maybe you can skip to the 2nd part of my answer. A slight misalignment could mean that the disk is still read, but the process takes longer. If COD5 requires frequent access to the disk when booting up - as GT4-, that might explain why other games load properly and COD5 doesn't.

Other potential problems: scratched disk (visible scratches), dirty disk (you can clean with a cloth, sweeping radially from the center to the border of the disk), problem with the COD5 data installed in your PS3 hard disk (try reinstalling the game).

To bring the PS3 to factory settings, you need to use the reset to facorty deafults (this will format the hd) in the system settings menu, not the restore system under backup
