SOURCE: check engine light reset for 2001 ford escape

On any car 1996 or newer after a repair is made the memory in the computer has to be cleared the light will not go away by itself. The proper way to clear this is with a scanner or code reader but if you dont have any other way unhooking the battery will force the computer to loose all its memory and start all over and the light will go away. If the light returns after a few days you still have a problim.

SOURCE: Starter/Fuel Pump fuse, or the Relay Fuse blow

the fuel pump comes on when you turn the key on the starter comes on when you turn all the way to start so i would think the short is in the fuel pump if it blows by just turning the key on

SOURCE: 2003 k1200lt abs fully integral. rear reservior

As the break pads wear it creates a greater volume(capacity) at the caliper piston/s.This causes the fluid in the reseviour to go down.(even though you have no leak) then you top it up & it will again reduce fluid level as the pads wear further. When the pads are replaced you are required to push the pistons back in to accomadate the new(thicker) pads. Before you push the caliper pistons in at brake pad change you will need to drain out some fluid(from the resivour) to stop the resivour from overflowing. This is typical of all hydrolic braking systems on both bikes & cars.Check the pads, If they are wearing this symptom is compleatly normal.

U 1900 code on 2007 Ford 6.0l Diesel 350 Super Duty

U1900 FORD - CAN Communication Bus Fault

Read more: https://www.autocodes.com/u1900_ford.html
Possible causes
Faulty / intermittent ignition switch connections
CAN Bus wiring intermittently open/shorted to power or ground Faulty / intermittent connection at PCM
Faulty electrical connections at ABS Control Module
Faulty electrical connections at the instrument cluster
Poor connections at the trailer brake controller/trailer connector

Tech notes This is typically a false/intermittent code. It can occur if: Someone hooks up a scanner to the OBDII port while the ignition is on or while the engine is idling. A trailer brake system is installed improperly/incorrectly on a truck with ABS (anti-lock brakes).

When is the code detected? When the PCM, Brake Controller and Instrument Cluster are unable to communicate with each other at any time while the ignition switch is turned to the "Run" position, code U1900 sets in memory.

Possible symptoms Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light) Amber ABS (Anti-lock Brakes) Light ON Wrench Light On

U1900 Ford Description The Anti-ock Brakes System (ABS) module, the Powertrain Control Module (PCM), and the instrument cluster communicate over the Controller Area Network (CAN) Bus. This is a high-speed bus communication system and is not fault tolerant, which means any type of intermittent/loose connection between these 3 controllers will cause communication to stop. When the PCM, ABS module and instrument cluster are unable to communicate with each other at any time while the ignition switch is turned on, code U1900 will set.

Was there a recall on Ford Windstars 1999-2003 for the ABS module? I've read so many incidents like the one I'm having of the ABS and brake lights staying lit. If so, what are the steps that have to be...

The 2001 windstar does not have a recall on the ABS. There is a TSB but this is just a message to help out the repairer, its not a free warranty repair. The only recall you most likely have open is the speed control recall which is not associated with the ABS concerns common to the windstar.

2003 ford van e250. cruise control & sppedometer don't work. I think it is the fuse but don't know where fuse is located.

Does the abs light also come? the cause could be the abs sensor located in the rear differential. its located on top and held on by a 10mm bolt.

2001 Suburban ABS motor staying on after ignition is off

what you have is a ABS module that has shorted out internally. you have to replace that module and then bleed the ABS pump AND the brakes at all wheels.

Ford E-250 Handicap van will not turnover

Electrical problems are always the hardest to troubleshoot, that's why your shop could not find anything, they had not searched long enough, or looking in the wrong place. The shop may have checked the starter, solenoid, battery, relay( if equipped with), and then they gave up. It may be the ignition switch,or ignition safety switch( if equipped with ) there is almost always a way to bypass electrical equiptment to check if it is the problem. These test should be performed in the proper manner. You may need a new shop, to handle your electrical problems.

'98 Windstar ABS and traction control lights after getting brakes done

Prior to the brakes being replaced you more than likely had metal to metal contact which can throw metal shavings on the ABS wheel sensors. This metal shavings stick to the road grime on the wheel sensors showing the ABS computer a false reading making the ABS light come on. On Ford Windstars, the ABS light and the traction control light are on the same circuit. A simple (and cheap) fix is to pull the ABS wheel sensors and clean them with brake cleaner or throttle body cleaner. Make sure you dry them well and reinstall. On the Windstar there is one bold holding the sensors to the back of the wheels. I recommend you spray some WD40 on the bold and wait about 10 minutes before removing.
If this doesn't fix the ABS light and brakes, you can have the ABS system diagnosed at a shop for about an hour labor. (Usally about $100)
I have fixed many of these type of problems just by cleaning the ABS wheel sensors. Good luck.
