Hai Ed Montague
In your vdr-D220 the water will fall on the power IC or IC's related to power system so it may not get power on,it can be only solved by the technical person, contact your service station to repair it.

Thank You

Why did you have to dry it out?

By opening it, do you mean that you took apart the outer cover, if so, you may have a broken, or loose connection which should be investigated. Please be more clear on what you did exactly and why you had to originally do it. thanks

If water went to circuit board, that might damaged semiconductor parts like ICs etc. please check open fuse (very small) on board near power area.

Windows 7 driver needed

Please see to this link.

As you are directly recording to a disc, you dont need any softwares to be installed usually. Just put the recorded software cd into your computer and copy / edit it directly.

I hope this is useful to you
Thanks

New mac computer, panasonic vdr-d220 camcorder

If you're running OS X and you have iMovie (part of the suite that comes with Leopard) then your mac has a pre-loaded driver.

Just make sure the disc is finalized, then connect it to your mac via the USB cable and select the CONNECT DISC option on the camera. OS X will ask you which program to open it with; choose iMovie. It will open a video capture screen which will allow you to choose which scenes you want to load from the camera. It will take a few minutes to capture the files and save them to a project folder in iMovie; they'll be visible to work with in iMovie from there.

Note: I believe that iMovie converts the .VOB (DVD) files on your camera to .MOV (Quicktime), which can result in a minor loss in quality. But unless you have Final Cut or some other editing software, I don't know any other way to get those videos on your mac.

I have a VDR D220 and I've used it on a couple of projects with iMovie with success. Good luck.
