Re: Using the Remote Control

With the camera turned ON, Press the TIMER button and select two or ten seconds. The camera will remain ON and you can use the REMOTE CONTROL to take pictures or start recording AVI Movies. You do not have to reset the camera, just press the remote control again to continue taking several images. Now you can be a part of the action and pictures.

How do you set up the digital remote control

If you're using a wired remote, you don't have to do anything. Just use the button on the remote instead of the shutter release button on the camera.

If you're using an infrared remote, set the camera's shooting mode to one of the remote modes. The quick-response mode fires the shutter when you press the button on the remote. The delayed moded gives you two seconds to hide the remote behind your back before firing the shutter.

IR Receiver

Are you serious?

In case you are serious, IR=infrared.

When you point your TVs remote control toward the TV and press a button, it is the IR receiver on the TV which receives the IR signal which is transmitted from the IR LED (Light Emitting Diode), which is the small bulb like part, on the front end of your remote control.

Any device using a IR remote control, must have an IR receiver to gather the siganl being transmitted. The IR siganl is a coded message of instructions for the device.

Start up delay when using the MC-EU1 Remote Control with Coolpix cameras

When you turn the camera on it senses a device plugged into the USB port and must wait to determine what is connected (computer, remote, etc.). It may take up to ten seconds for the camera to realize that it is not connected to a computer and become ready to take photos. If you turn the camera on and then press the Shutter button on the Remote it will turn on almost instantly.
