Can't start laptop

Try booting (f8) again but instead of safe mode try 'Last known good configuration' Your Boot.ini is probably corrupt or your HDD is faulty and has bad sectors. If this is a no go, then you will need your windows cd to either repair your operating system; or a complete re install would be a better solution. As long as you can enter then bios (either DEL or F2 on startup) and enable your cd/dvd drive as the first boot device. Insert your cd and press enter to boot from cd and either press 'R' for repair or 'Enter' for complete install.
