When i turn it on w/o the sim card all it says is "insert sim." i keyed in the number you gave me with the sim card in and it popped up "unexpected data." i tried to do the master reset but it asked me for a security code and i had no idea what it was. . .i don't want to get locked out of my sim by trying the wrong code too many times.

Depends on what phone as to what size. Most phones have the sim card under the back cover....some are under the battery. A few have a small door on either side of the phone. It should be relatively obvious as to which one will fit once you see the sim port.

"Select Multiple to" option will appear on the screen. Choose the
"Select Multiple To" option and then select "Copy to SIM to Phone."
Step 5Remove the SIM card that you placed in your Motorola
phone and insert it in your LG phone. After inserting the SIM card,

A message will appear on your screen saying "Sim card blocked please enter PUK (Pin Unblocking Key)..type in the PUK number this number will reset your pin code and you will be asked to create a new 4 digit pin for you simcard.
The position of the SIM card holder depends on your phone model. It might be placed under the battery or on the side of the phone. Before inserting/removing your SIM card, turn off your phone and make sure no charger is connected to the phone. Insert your SIM card according to the illustration that you find close to the SIM card holder. Note: Without a SIM card, you can't make or receive calls. In some countries you can make emergency calls without a SIM card.
