Make sure your cap air hole is working or try it with out the cap
also take and blow back through the line to clear any thing that mite be lodged in there
it should run strait through the filter if nothings blocking it

Is there an inline fuel filter on a 2010 Chevy Malibu 2.4L and if so where is it located?

Sorry I am not sure about 2010 but on CHEVY the ones I have change over the last few years. They were around the gas tank axle area (One was above the vacuum canister near the gas tank.) or under the car on the drivers side attached to the frame between tank and engine compartment.
You might check with a auto parts store and ask for a exact match fuel filter for you car. They may tell you the only one you have is part of the fuel pump.
From my understanding a lot of cars now days just have a fuel filter as part of the fuel pump in the gas tank..
03 I think has been the latest model I have changed a inline filter on. I hope this helps if not sorry for any confusion.

I am having issues not getting gas to the bowl in the carburetor what would cause that

Could be a defective petcock.
Especially if it's a vacuum operated one.
There's a filter screen at the top of the petcock, up inside the gas tank.
It might be clogged - you need to remove the petock from the gas tank to access.
Could be a clogged fuel line, or an inline fuel filter.
Or, an inline fuel filter could be installed backwards (most are uni-directional, with a flow arrow showing the direction of flow).
There could be a filter at the fitting where the fuel line enters the float bowl.
The float could be set too high.
The float needle valve could be clogged.

I'm thinking you probably have already answered your own question.

Your standard fuel system usually consists of either a gravity fed system, whereby the tank is elevated on the chassis, fuel flows through the line into an inline fuel filter and then into the carb. In some systems, a fuel pump is needed to supply a better flow of fuel. You are basically saying, you took the filter off the line going from the pump to the tank, fuel flows freely which leads me to believe this may be a clogged fuel filter.

For this particular model however, there are literally dozens of potential causes, anything from a clogged fuel filter to improper fuel being used in the machine. Potentially, it could also be clogged or faulty injectors, in which case you are probably better off taking it in to a dealer to have them test that out and repair it if necessary.

Sometimes the injection pump shut off valve can be the cause as well, it doesn't reset like it's supposed to. The only way to really test that however is to simply switch the key back to the off position and then switch it back on, and see if it fires up.

I need to find the fuel filter

On a carb model, a lot of times there is an inline filter in the line from the gas tank to the carb, so follow your gas line down.

BUT, a lot of times, there is no inline filter, and the only thing you have is a filter screen attached to the top of the fuel shutoff (petcock) inside the gas tank.
The only way to access is to drain gas tank and remove petcock,

Vr4 won,t start was going an is turning over

It may not be getting fuel. You have to maybe look to changing the inline fuel filter or have the fuel pump itself checked for operation. The fuel pump is in the gas tank, but you can check fuel flow by separating the line at where it goes into the injectors. Put a plastic container under the line where separated and crank the engine a couple times and see if you have fuel flow. Often times the inline fuel filter gets gunked up by sediment from the gas tank and blocks fuel flow.

It starts up fine and runs ok for about 20 mins driving then it would lose the power then if alow to rest it would return

Check your inline fuel filter to see if it has picked up sediment from your gas tank. Often these filters will pick um some sediment which lays parallel to the fuel flow, allowing some gas to get through, then when you accelerate, the sediment gets packed against the out flow side and blocks fuel flow. When you let it set for a few minutes, then the sediment settles out and allows some fuel to flow again.

2004 ford escape 128,000 miles-runs fine for approx 50 miles then spits and sputters. i reset battery, meaning bring temp to normal, run for 1 min, turn on ac for 1 min, then drive 10 miles and all is...

Try changing the inline fuel filter. It may be plugging up with gunk from the tank when you accelerate after running. If the gunk is settling in the lower part of the inline filter, this allows some fuel to flow, but when you accelerate or drive for an extended period, the gunk gets shoved against the output end blocking fuel flow. It also could be picking up some water in your tank, if the tank is allowed to be low on fuel.

Gasoline over flow in the carbuerator

Sticky float needle, worn needle, bad tip on needle, gummy gas, sunk carburetor float, rust in the tank jamming needle in place. Take apart and clean carburetor, inspect needle, check fuel filter in tank, add extra inline fuel filter, always turn off gas when not riding.
