Question about Audio Players & Recorders
I've got a Marantz stereo double cassette player SD415, apparently made in 1991. I'd like to change the play-back head but am finding it difficult to get the replacement part. The company says they don't stock it any longer. Could you advise where to find it, or at least to get the company part number to help the search?
I'd really appreciate any help!
It is unlikely that you may find spares for a deck that is 17 years old. This unit uses an auto reverse head assembly and they can be proprietary spares, hard to replace with anything but the original. You may strike it lucky get one from WES components in Sydney. They have one rotary R/P head, I think it looks like an ALPS design, and may fit your deck. Check it out and see. The other option is to see if you can get an entire mechanism. Where in the world are you and I shall check for the parts with a supplier in your part of the world. All this for a "FixYa" rating:) Cheers
