Install Microsoft Security Essentials [] -- it is a free Antivirus/Antispyware product created by Microsoft. It will perform routine scans, is very easy to use, and won't slow your computer down.

Computer is taking 5 mins to load any page or program its runninig like 128 not 512ram

It sounds like it's time to do some maintenance and cleanup. How you do so depends on what OS you're using, but in general, you can follow the steps outlined in either or both of the articles here and here to improve the performance of your system. Begin by running disk cleanup and clearing out your temp files, then look at the autostarts and disable unnecessary autostart services, and uninstall old unused software applications that may be hogging your system resources . Consider a security or AV that isn't such a system hog as well, particularly if you have limited ram available or are running an older OS.
Also take a close look at the browser add-ons you have enabled in your internet browser, and remove, disable or uninstall unnecessary browser helpers and toolbars that may be clogging the bandwidth you have available.
Finally, stay away from registry cleaners and other so-called speed improvements. They will cause more problems than they solve. See here for more info.
Good luck.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!

Go to safe mode with f8 as os starts. Restore os to an earlier date when everything was functional. Use system restore (start - all programs - accessories -system tools - system restore). Flush browser plugins. (uninstall java, ar, flash etc..) Run virus/spyware/malware scan. Clean infections if found. Update os and browser. Delete unknown browser helper objects. Update plugins and addons. Remove old toolbars and install new.

Lost memory.

If you did a complete system recovery then you may be out of luck. You can find programs online that can scan your hard drive for deleted files and restore them, but they are not usually able to find everything. So at best you can probably save some of your information.

Programs like "undelete" and "Recover my files" are capable of doing this.

Download adaware (free product), Spybot (another free product) and C-Cleaner (again this also is a free product)

Run C-Cleaner first, then adaware (run it over and over again till it does not find any more), then run spybot, run it over and over again till it can't find anymore. THEN run c-cleaner again (and run it till it does not find anymore) - Then run c-cleaners registry cleaner (fix all problems do not back up registry) till it finds no more problems.

If this does not work - write back and we will go from there.

My computer is brand new it;s a acer am5100-u5301a. It is full of things on the screen saying VIRUS THREAT- you may be infected, and they wont go away. They want money for this protection and that,I;m very...

you have nothing to fear from those messages, if you currently have no antivirus protection then their is no reason why it would be telling you that you have a virus. what you are probably seeing is adverts for virus protection. you will know they are adverts as they will come up in a cut down Internet Explorer window and you will be able to close it by clicking the X in the top right corner.

to get peace of mind you should download free AdAware from lavasoft usa, once you have scanned your PC it will help you remove advert software/Spyware.

also you should download free avg antivirus. both those software packages are free for home use.

poor acer, none of those problems are cos you have an acer, most users suffer form those types of problems
