Saeco Incanto "grinder blocked" - Saeco Incanto Classic Espresso Machine

    Saeco Incanto (Starbucks Barista version).
After thorough cleaning and power-up got this message on the display "grinder blocked". The problem started a bit earlier and could be fixed with a power-up reset. Other than that, the machine works (using pre-ground coffee through the chute). Is there a sensor I should bypass?

Good links to cleaning instructions and technical manuals. Other than that ...

There is nothing like sensors.but for sure there are gears which helps the grinder motor to rotate and the gears are been stucked by something so the motor is nor able to run the grinder.and this problem occurs.try cleaning that internal gears.it will solve your problem.

    Hi,

is it the far right lamp that blinking? Then you have to descale your machine.

Is it the lamp in the middle in the bottom row, then you have to open
the door and take out the driptray and dregsbox for 5 to 10 sec.

if the water drop flashing then you have to open the steam knob and make a cup of water(tea).

Please make sure to unplugged the machine from the wall before you attempt to clear the gears of the BEANS. And see if there are and broken teeth missing on the gears or even chips.

Hi,

I think you have to take it to a Saeco service center, they have to upgrade your power board in the machine.

how tight is the coffee packed in the dripper, the flow rate is determine by how tight the coffee is, thats why you always see the barista press the coffee against the disk of the grinder dispenser in a coffee store

SOURCE: Grinder Blocked said on screen. Any Quick fixes?

This has happened to me twice. Usually caused by a trapped bean in the grinder. Here is how I fixed it. It is easy.

Inside the plastic bean hopper is a screw located in the bottom. Remove it and lift off the hopper. Have someone help you as you turn the machine upside down to remove all the beans. Use a tooth pick or a wooden skewer to pick out any beans lodged inside the grinder housing. Once completed, return the unit to its upright position.

Look inside the hopper and locate the grinder stem which is gold colored. On top of the stem is a hex bolt. Take a hex wrench with a 7/16 hex socket, connect it to the grinder hex bolt and turn it "counter clockwise" about half way which is the same direction the grinder turns. Add some beans and see if it works. If not, turn the hex bot "clockwise" a half to a full turn. Add beans and check.

This helps move the grinder out of its "stuck" position.

Saeco incanto says brew unit blocked

The message is likely generated because your grinder burr disk is ether stuck or turning too slow.. If you're a handy person, you can open up the casing, access the grinder assembly and clean it. If your grinder is clean and you still the message, may be the rotation pick connector got loose (it's the one with the 2 small black wires) or iss defective.

Removing finger guard and cleaning ceramic grinder in Saeco product

Before starting, find the parts diagram for the Incanto Deluxe (google search: "incanto deluxe" "parts diagram").

To remove the finger guard, first remove the silicon plug (part number 90 in parts diagram) in the center of the grind adjustment knob by poking an unbent paperclip with a small hook along the silicon plug's edge, twisting 90 degrees and pulling the plug out. Next unscrew the phillips head screw (part number 15) way down in the center of the adjustment knob and remove the knob. Then remove the phillips head screw (part number 120) holding the finger guard to the bean hopper.

I'm not sure how to work on the grinder, but from here at least you should be able to get to it. I suspect that simply removing the finger guard may make things a lot better.

Grinder is blocked and have tried screwing the grinder stem but no change is there anything else i can try

Hi hope I'm not too late. But I vaccumed the bean grinder. Unscrew the grinder stem fully open/large grind, place vaccum hose over grinder, turn on vaccum it sucks out any loose 'hard' beans/rocks/stems. Srew down to desired grind and refill - worked for me.

Ave an SAECO INCANTO RONDA with milling problems.

You can turn the grinder (mill) so the plates open for a more gross coffee this will help the grinder motor to rotate more free you can use a vacume cleaner to **** all the remainig coffee inside the grinder. If still not any reaction you have to desasemble complete clean the grinding plates. If you still not have any reaction then the grinder motor burn out and need to bee replaced.

Incanto sirius states grinder blocked. Took apart

I own a Saeco Incanto Deluxe. It employs the ceramic grinder that has worked flawlessly for 3-4 years. One day it stopped and "Grinder Blocked" appeared. I removed the entire grinder unit, cleaned it thoroughly and calibrated the grinder. This did not fix the problem. After many similar attempts, I found the entire grinder assembly (motor, grinder etc.) online for $149.00. Install of the new assembly took me five minutes and it works perfectly. Please note that the ceramic grinding blades (there are two round ones that must be aligned corrrectly) cost $40 a piece (same site where I found the entire assembly for $149). My suggestion--save yourself the agony and replace the assembly if cleaning and calibration fails.
