I can't find the owner's manual to our shop vac. What's involved in converting it from a dry vac to a wet vac? I think it does both, but I've only ever used it to clean the car.

Generally you remove the filter and just use the foam sleeve (if it has one) it should have a float ball in a cage under the filter. this is to keep the water from going into the motor if it gets too full. That is pretty much it. You should have it plugged into a GFCI outlet when using it for wet pick up, also do not pick up flammable or hazardous liquids.

Older model shop.vac parts/owners manuel

Hi, I know on my Craftsman shop vac 2 different sizes of vacs that I use, I try and stick to the craftsman filters, but you can use other brands if they are not available or you want to save some ( $ ) ? As far as a manual for this vac, more then likely you will have to go to the maker and distributor as Sears, O.C.Hardware also sell there products. You may have to go with a manual that is the same peak H.P.and gallons that covers all different makes and models. Filter wise, make sure you have the right ones on or off when using the wet or dry pick-up settings.
Sincerely,

Bought house. Inherited shop/vac. A bit old, but

If you are going to use the wet vac to remove water, be sure to remove the bag inside the canister first. Also, some wet vacs have an internal float that has to be installed, but that may not be the case with yours.

I have lost my owner's manual for my shop vac and need to figure out how to set it up so I can pump out my flooded basement using a garden hose.
Is there anywhere I can find an owner's manual on line??
The model stated on my vac is not what I clicked on your site....my vac states:
Model QPV 10.5
