Question about the integrated audio on an Acer desktop...

Actually, it's more the speakers, you can have the greatest sound card in the world, but plugging in a 10 dollar set of pc speakers is not going to sound good. That's why a good motherboard has Optical SPDIF Out Port, so you can put the sound to a receiver.

It's HD 5 channel, but likely your sound blaster is better.

I have a dell dimension 8250. I lost my sound, but

Either your soundcard driver has gotten corrupted or your soundcard has died. You can find both the driver & info on what card you have at www.dell.com. Click on the support link and you can either input your Dell Service Tag & get exact system info, or you can look it up using the system model #. The driver will be available for download. Try reinstalling an updated driver first. If that still doesn't work check your device manager to see if a soundcard is listed. If it is not then more than likely your card has died and will need to be replaced. Hope this helps.

Video & sound problem

On your Dell computer is a service tag. Contact dell with that number and they will tell you what card is installed in that computer.

XPS usually contain either an ATI or an NVidia card. Thats about all I know. I had to replace one with a newer video a few months ago for a client of mine because Dell didn't support the machine and couldn't pinpoint the model number of card. I know on the website there are about 4 to 6 of them to choose from.

Need threeports oped to play xbox

Is that what a game page said, or router info or xbox info? I was just wondering. Sounds strange 3 ports are needed. If you want three ports opened, give me your router make and model# please and I'll tell you how to open the ports. Also give me the port #'s and I'll include them in so it'll be easiest for you. If you meabt something else describe your proble so I can help. Thanks.
