Question about HP iPAQ RX3115 Pocket PC

Ipaq 3115 acting funny

I have had this pda for 2 months and all o fthe sudden today I could not open a directory or open a file on either my memory card or in the computers main memory. I usually store information there but for some reason I can not get at it. When I click on a folder to open it, it simply highlights it. If i click on another item, it highlights that item also (as if the Ctrl key is stuck on a desktop pc) I tried numerous soft resets and even hard reset it but it wont do anything. Anyone have any tips?

This doesn't sound real good. You might as well try the taking the battery out--and since you've already done a hard reset, you might as well try the drastic battery-out-overnight cure. This will provoke another hard reset, but sometimes there's something extra that comes from the device being completely severed from power. Or, is there a ROM upgrade for your model that you could flash, maybe correcting something that's got corrupted. Otherwise, it sounds like the unit will have to be looked at for servicing.

Garmin Nuvi 1350 showing on screen "no map data available"

Shut off the nuvi.

Remove any memory card (if equipped) from your nuvi.

Plug the GPS into your computer via USB cable.

Open the Garmin "drive" icon in "My Computer"

Navigate to the x:/Garmin directory or "folder" (where "x:" is the drive letter assigned to your Garmin). Locate either map files set(s) named: gmapsupp.img or gmapprom.img.

Some units store map files in the hidden x:/.System directory instead. To view the .System folder and contents, you must direct your computer to display both the "system" and "hidden" files.

If you lack large files named either gmapsupp.img or gmapprom.img (about 1 GB or more); your maps are missing from the internal memory of the nuvi and will need to be reloaded.

If you pulled a memory card above, reinsert it and check the directories for the same gmapsupp.img or gmapprom.img files. If they're not present there, the maps should be reloaded.

I hope this helps

How to Download Music to a Memory Card?

Downloading music onto memory cards allows you to conveniently transport and store your digital audio. Some personal computers come equipped with built-in memory card readers. However, external devices still provide download capability for those who do not own memory card-ready computers. In either case, the drag and drop process allows you to store your favorite music onto memory cards.
Instructions
  1. Insert the memory card into an external memory card reader or device associated with the memory card, such as a PDA.
  2. Connect the external memory card reader or device to your computer using a USB cable. Insert one end of the USB cable into the USB port on the external memory card reader or device. Insert the other end of the USB cable into the USB port on the computer.
  3. Wait for the computer to recognize the external memory card reader or device. You will access the external memory card reader or device as if it were a drive in your file manager. Skip Steps 1 through 3 and insert the memory card directly into your computer's built-in memory card reader if applicable.
  4. Open the file icon for the memory card reader or device to view its file contents as a folder.
  5. Open the folder containing the digital audio file you wish to download to the memory card.
  6. Drag and drop your desired digital audio file into the memory card reader or device's open file folder.

How do i download video from my D90 to my computer to edit or share?

Two options: connect with a USB lead or take the memory card out of the camera and read it with a card reader attached to the computer.

Using a USB lead, you shouldn't need a driver or other software. The computer can recognise the camera memory as a removable drive without actually recognising the camera as a camera. Try looking in "My Computer" for an extra drive (Under "Devices with Removable Storage") and opening that. There should be directories with picture files in them that you can drag to your desktop. Video files will be in a different directory.

Many people find it more convenient to just take the memory card out of the camera and put it in a card reader, especially now that these readers are built into computers and printers. You can't get the pics from the camera's internal memory that way though.

Lost calendar on hotsync

The information is unfortunately lost.

Unless you synced the palm on another computer, the palm only can back up the information when synced.

So if you sync it and the computer overwrites the handheld, the information never made it to the computer and thus cannot be restored.

The only thing you could check would be the backup folder in the palm directory under your profile name. Palm puts all of the .prc/.pdb files in there when you sync.
