Color problem.

DO NOT tamper with your pda if it stil in warranty. The following solution is for out of warranty pda'S ONLY. Sounds like your LCD cable is loose. You need to reseat the cable. It is only slightly tricky but can be easily done by a novice. You will need a Tortion screwdriver with a T7 socket to unscrew the back plastics (only 4 screws). Once done look on the circuit board and notice the horisontal brown plastic socket running down the side of the circuit board. You should also see a brownish cable running to the front (to the LCD). This is your LCD cable. Reseat it very gently. Do not use any force here.
